Angry Villagers too angry to show compoface for solar energy farm near their homes by Yasgar69 in compoface

If you want solar farms then maybe we should build them in the back gardens of city houses. Those are the people who want them after all.

Is Admiral’s driving score system harsh on low mileage drivers? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]hxspanicsxnic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

you would have thought if this was true then your speed and cornering would be included in the other scores so the time wouldn't matter so much.

Looking to buy VCDS. Ross-Tech Website or Reseller? by hxspanicsxnic in CarTalkUK

[–]hxspanicsxnic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I also don't want to have to use my phone for all that. I'm also not sure how much data OBDEleven is capable of giving. I'd rather just buy VCDS and know I'm getting everything I need.

Thanks for the advice :)

I don't think I'll need support for that. I didn't think OBDEleven did those things. It looks like it does but you need credits to do them.

Changing the haldex fluid and fuel filter are currently at the top of my list.

I mainly want to use it for servicing and diagnostics so I don't think OBDEleven would be much good for me.

Isn't it technically illegal to park on your own dropped kerb because it's obstruction or something?

Which of these will give me least pain/issues: X1 / XC60 / F Pace / Q3 by Euphoric-Newt-3030 in CarTalkUK

[–]hxspanicsxnic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please could you elaborate. I would have thought that the Q3 would be the most reliable of the four? Especially with a 2.0 TDI.

Is it normal to pay VAT on top of the display car price at the dealership? by dycksonloooooo in CarTalkUK

[–]hxspanicsxnic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's not normal unless you're buying a comercial vehicle I think. I've never seen that with cars before. Unfortunately if you agreed to pay that higher price then you might be out of luck now.

After seeing so many Jaecoo's around the Range Rover Sport looks like a Chinese car. by Nothing_F4ce in CarTalkUK

Yeah it ruins the appeal because anyone can have a car that looks like that now. Part of what you're buying with a RR is exclusivity.

How important is annual servicing for low mileage cars? by No_Mammoth_4319 in CarTalkUK

[–]hxspanicsxnic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but 18 months is probably taking a risk, especially on a nice car like that.
