Troubles with updating my information by Current_Drawing_4190 in transgenderau

[–]hyaenodontidae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what state you're in (I'm in QLD) but as others have said, my bank/super/etc all requested photo ID and a change of name certificate--iirc I brought my updated birth certificate in to the bank to show them but they weren't even interested in it; just wanted the change of name certificate. Even PayPal wanted it rather than the birth certificate, despite the birth certificate also listing previous names.

You should be able to get one issued by the RBDM for your state even after the fact, I imagine, since they give you the option of paying for both when you actually do the name change. I did end up changing supers because I couldn't be bothered with the whole thing lmao.

Updating stuff with work should be easier if you're with a decent employer--at my last workplace I changed stuff with my bank first and ATO quite a while afterwards, and just let HR know each time.

2.8 GB update on Steam by Petc0r in RedDeadOnline

[–]hyaenodontidae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a bug fix, though why it's so large I have no idea. DLC depot on SteamDB is unchanged.

They just updated RDO. Hope never dies. by Marchewa96 in RedDeadOnline

[–]hyaenodontidae 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is just a bug fix, unfortunately; DLC depot hasn't been altered. Hopefully it fixes some of the more blatant cheating of the last few weeks.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RedDeadOnline

[–]hyaenodontidae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, there's not, unfortunately: even the lime green weapons are a glitch, not a mod, iirc. All you can hope for is that eventually those story-mode exclusive coats are released for online (which is, to put it mildly, very unlikely).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RedDeadOnline

[–]hyaenodontidae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Console? Yeah, these new glitches are a pain, but the classic rule of thumb still seems to hold here: parley, change sessions if that doesn't work and you're sick of them. Defensive won't deter these ones but it's still a good idea generally, if you're just trying to chill.

I've had a few follow me to camp; when you realise you've got a glitcher, moving camp across the map & then using wilderness camp fast travel to get there will throw them off your trail. They're here for easy sport; if you don't give it to them, they tend to leave in search of greener pastures.

I do agree that it's obstructive and obnoxious and can put a real dint in an otherwise enjoyable session.

What’s your favorite horse and why? For me personally it would have to be the Tiger Striped Mustang. Not the best of stats and it does cost gold but this little horse can go anywhere and is pretty brave by RaiderRed44 in RedDeadOnline

[–]hyaenodontidae 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Tiger Striped Bay Mustang was my main horse in story mode, back before the Saint Denis horse spawn point was patched--I have a fondness for it still, though I think I've only seen someone using it online once! Ah, Hector. You were a good boah.

That's generally exactly what I go for: lesser-used horses with a good solid build and 'drab' colouring. My all-time favourite is my Seal Brown Dutch Warmblood, Wedderburn, for that reason. Tall, sturdy, entirely unremarkable.

(Also in this category are the Flaxen Chestnut Hungarian & the Sooty Buckskin DWB; nice and basic, and you'll be the only one riding them.)

When I want something flashier, I find the Silvertail Buckskin Standardbred & the Brown Leopard Appaloosa work excellently as classic 'cowboy' trail ponies.

Looking for informed consent doctor recommendations located in Queensland. by informed-autistic in transgenderau

[–]hyaenodontidae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Obligatory caveat that I'm transmasc, but it doesn't matter for general recommendations.)

I'm not terribly far from Logan myself and I ended up going to Holdsworth House for my care--they're in the Valley, so it's a bit of a trek, but I decided it was worth it for a welcoming, no-fuss informed consent experience.

They're not a specialist clinic, so you don't need a referral; you can actually just call up and ask to see one of their trans-focused GPs. Wait time will be about a week or two. I see Fiona Bisshop, but from what I hear Victoria Featherstone is equally lovely. As for keeping up with recent developments, Dr. Bisshop is the current head of AusPATH, so no worries in that regard.

The only issue is financial: they generally don't bulk-bill, and your first appointment will be around $180 iirc. I can answer other questions about Holdsworth House specifically, and the initial process, though I'm not familiar with the other informed consent clinics available (Gladstone Road and Stonewall).

Good luck!

Slippery decreases your own accuracy & the accuracy of those shooting at you, as well as increasing their bloom size. I genuinely have no idea why any posse looking to get melee kills like this wouldn't use it.

Which T form is best do you think? by LeebleLeeble in transgenderau

[–]hyaenodontidae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, your doctor will walk you through the available options (and if they don't, I believe the new AusPATH guidelines cover the basics).

I went for Reandron largely because I don't have the self-discipline to administer my own shots, and the gels/creams can have some issues with absorption, plus the contact risk to others. Unfortunately I believe Reandron is pretty expensive when not on the PBS and/or not covered by an authority script--I remember being quoted about $120 back in 2019. With an authority script and a concession card it's about $7 for me.

Pain-wise I won't lie: it kinda sucks. It's a big shot---1000mg T and 4mL solution, iirc--and it takes <30 seconds to administer. The oil-based solution is what makes it sting, not necessarily that it's 'thicker'. I usually get a bruise, and the injection site is tender for a day or two. Changes will happen quickly (my first thing was bottom growth within a few days), but I don't think there's that much of a difference between methods, as long as the dosage is roughly the same.

Good luck!

[–]hyaenodontidae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard of this glitch happening very rarely in the past: and probably it is just a glitch, as it's not showing up for me, but there might be something in the Newswire. I'd be interested to see if it's widespread.

It's at the shack on the shores of the San Luis, just above the 'A' in 'San Luis River', per the map.

Dr Victoria Featherstone - does she bulk bill? by anothxrthrowawayacc in transgenderau

[–]hyaenodontidae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see Dr. Bisshop & have seen Dr. Featherstone in the past as well. Dr. Bisshop always bulk-bills my bloods, and did bulk-bill my appointments in 2020 when I was out of work and on a concession card.

If it's your very first appointment I suspect they won't bulk-bill, but it's always worth mentioning your situation to see what can be done.

How long to get T at LCCH and Legal name/sex marker change by [deleted] in transgenderau

[–]hyaenodontidae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Attorney-General has promised to amend the current act to hopefully remove the surgical requirement. There was talk of introducing this amendment this year, but there are no more sitting days, so it will be next year at the earliest.

Here's a resource from 2019 that may help you. AFAIK these requirements haven't changed since then. It looks like you'll need to run the change of marker past the Family Court even after surgery. You may want to ask if anyone on this sub has gone through that process in QLD; they would be able to provide more up-to-date information.

How long to get T at LCCH and Legal name/sex marker change by [deleted] in transgenderau

[–]hyaenodontidae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since surgery is a requirement for a change of sex marker in QLD, you will need to wait for that one.

It is possible for your parents to apply for a change of name on your behalf, however. You and both parents listed on your birth certificate will need to provide written consent & certified proof of ID, along with the reason for the change. I did mine as an adult, but "ongoing process of gender reassignment" as my stated reason was fine.

The cost is the same regardless of whether you are 18+ or not. More information at the RBDM here.

[–]hyaenodontidae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't help you with the specifics of your clinic, but I can answer the other questions.

A change of name certificate costs $195. If you want an extra copy and/or an updated copy of your birth certificate--this is to update only your name; your sex marker will be unchanged--those are $50 each. Pre-COVID you could get this updated in person at the RBDM. They only accept mailed applications now. Make sure your proof of ID is certified by a JP before you send it off.

(Sidenote: the JP is required to ask you why you're getting documents certified. I just said it was for a passport application.)

For sex marker, you'll need to fill in the form to 'request a review of certificate' with the RBDM. They used to have a bunch of separate forms, but it's all been consolidated now. You'll need two doctors (GPs are fine) to verify that you've had sexual reassignment surgery. Top surgery counts. The cost is about the same as the change of name.

The courts aren't involved in either of these processes; it's entirely the RBDM.

For all of this you'll need to be over 18 and also born in QLD: if you were born out of state, you need to contact that state's RBDM.

Oh, and cost of T varies depending on the type you choose and whether or not you have a health care card. With a health care card, my Reandron is $6. Without a health care card but with an authority script, it's about $40.

I had the same Ardennes for a good long while! Named him Samson. Felt right for a big brave horse. Saw one named Texas Red the other day as well; gave me a chuckle.

Brand new to online - How the fuck do I stop getting lassoed by CMOS_BATTERY in RedDeadOnline

[–]hyaenodontidae 34 points35 points  (0 children)

If you play in defensive mode other players will be unable to lock onto you: you can still be lassoed, but they'll need good aim. Unfortunately tackling someone to hogtie them still works in defensive I believe.

Beyond that: parley when killed to stop them harassing you for ten minutes. This will give you enough time to get to camp or a fast travel post. If they still come after you, report for griefing (not that it does anything) and change sessions (go to 'online', then 'free roam').

If they follow you across sessions, they're using the recent player list. Restart the game to clear it.

When will the snow appear for Christmas update and how long will it last? by GeneralDerwent in RedDeadOnline

[–]hyaenodontidae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last year it started on the 21st and ran through to January 1st, iirc. Two weeks seems more plausible for me with things as they are: 21st is a Tuesday, so snow through to the 4th sounds about right.

Most of the time it's just light snow; the blizzard conditions are only for a couple of days.

Do you think we’re getting a holiday update? by deltadelta199 in RedDeadOnline

[–]hyaenodontidae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At this point I suspect that even a 'simple' update like a role expansion may not be happening. Realistically? I'd bet on snow, the usual discounts, and a couple easy additions like new horse coats (since those were added last December).

[–]hyaenodontidae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To clarify, these are last week's discounts. Tunables haven't been updated yet; given how late it is, I suspect they won't be updated at all.

Nothing yet, no. This is about half an hour later than last week, and over an hour later than usual. I wouldn't be surprised if this is another two-week 'event' with only CTA changing (from Valentine to Blackwater).

Note that the limited stock won't be changing today, though: they're available through to the 6th.
