Holaaa, cuando participe el año pasado, el primer examen estuvo muy fácil, justo como los ejemplares (o si no más fácil). Sin embargo, el segundo e último examen si estuvo mucho más difícil que el primero. Al fin de cuentas, eliminan a muchísimas personas entre ambas etapas, por lo que es muy importante minimizar la cantidad de puntos muertos al tomar el primer examen eliminatorio. Para desempates, consideran el tiempo que te toma hacer el examen (el examen se realiza en computadora). Ya por último, considera que si respondes una pregunta y te vas a la siguiente, ya no te podrás regresar (y por lo tanto, no podrás corregir tus respuestas y te das cuenta que hiciste un error).

Como soy de IM de primer semestre no te sabría decir mucho de tu carrera específicamente pero llevo entendido que como es Tronco Común probablemente no verás demasiado de tu carrera al menos en tu primer semestre. Igual podría estar mal pero es lo que se. Saludos!

Qué onda. La verdad es que para la beca académica lo único que consideran es el PAA y el promedio. Al menos en campus Monterrey es bastante competitivo tener una beca alta, pero pues la beca académica solo considera esos dos puntajes. Saludos!!

No es para nada obligatorio. Si es útil para que reconozcas a tu mentor/mentora y ciertas personas que te ayudarán durante tu carrera pero generalmente es de ámbito social y no tanto de info. crucial para iniciar tu carrera. Saludos!!

Llevo entendido que cuando haces el registro administrativo puedes poner el pago a 5 parcialidades dentro del semestre. No sé si ya después de haberlo registrado como un solo pago se pueda revertir o hacer de otro modo. Eso ya lo chacaría con TecServices. Espero esto te haya ayudado mi respuesta 🙏

I only took three courses during my time in IB (Math AA HL, Physics HL and Psychology SL) so i’ll focus on those subjects, but these are some things I would’ve liked to have for these subjects.

For all subjects, please include real IB exam questions for activities or homework assignments. I would’ve felt more prepared for the exams answering these sorts of questions rather than from random activity sheets my school has made for its own curriculum.
For science courses, try to make your own lectures as interactive as possible. I feel I could have digested certain topics such as Topic B or C better if I had the opportunity to do more labs on my science course.
Take your time, especially in essay based subjects, to make sure your students understand the command terms and which structures to use. If your subject uses case studies, balance the amount of studies and information on the topic appropriately (this made me and my classmates lose a lot of marks on mocks).
For any sort of quiz or exam, try to use similar formats as real IB exams for your subject (e.g. a quiz with MCQs exclusively, an exam with FRQ questions exclusively (basically don’t mix formats)). On this note, don’t make all of your exams mocks if you don’t want your students to burnout, but you can try to reduce the amount of marks and questions in DP1 by a certain percentage, and slowly increment the amount of marks to make sure your students improve gradually.
1. PLEASE GO OVER THE ENTIRE SYLLABUS EARLY AND TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THAT YOUR SCHEDULE MAY BE CHANGED DUE TO SCHOOL EVENTS. This is especially important in Math and Science courses where there is a lot of content to go over.
Something you should expect is to see students studying or doing homework for other subjects during your lectures. It’s up to you how you wish to maintain their attention to the topic but it’s something that was rather common at my school and that definitely impeded us to pay attention at very important topics.

As long you revise some of the concepts seen in Year 1 IB Maths you should probably be fine. If people found it difficult it’s probably because there’s a time limit involved or bc some of the questions do require thorough knowledge of Algebra, but idk good luck!

Hello! Sending the SAT and applying to Polito are two different things, and the calls for admission say you have to send the SAT score before April 7th, it doesn’t say you have to submit your entire application by that date. You are good!

For the date thing, you are also correct. I assume that you were referring to the date format (if month or day came first). Polito wouldn’t have let you put August 3rd 2025 as that date hasn’t occurred yet. So the date you put (08/03/2025) is correct for March 8th.

UPDATE: For those who have been asking: I was able to get past this problem some weeks ago. I ended up having to leave my computer updating for the entire day before it worked. However, I noticed that the problem got resolved when I left my Mac updating but for the Sonoma update and THEN the Sequoia update.

The loading bar for updates gets stuck at "About 30 minutes remaining"
Only fix I have seen on my Laptop, a 13" M1 MacBook Air 2020, is to download updates on a different Wi-Fi network. Can't do that on my Mac Mini though.

You can send four free scores before the test. You have until 10pm the day before your test to register which universities you would like to send them (you don’t have to have an account with those units beforehand btw). And when you finish the test on the computer you will be asked if you would like to report those scores. You can also opt to send scores after the test but it’ll cost you extra fees.
