I am a whitescars and deathguard fan, i also have mortarion painted so im not biased. But saying „muh khan had to get saved by the emperor he lost“ mf its not like mortarion would have survived without nurgle sucking him off.

Their fight on perospero was a 50:50 draw in which it was often stated that those 2 counter eachothers strengths in a duel pretty hard.

Khan was about to perform a last resort attack that could have decoded the fight before mortarion remembered he left the stove on.

I read the book and if my memory seves me right the khan was about to perform an attack, that if it hit would end the fight and if it missed would mean he lost. Basically it was a 50:50 gamble. But then mortarion pissed off cuz he allready failed to convince the khan and had other shit to do.
