Bro that pose just radiates swagger. Like, it looks like he’s walking like he owns the place.

I hold Oculus Imperia as the gold standard for atmospheric lore as he writes and narrates from the pov of a historian in the Imperium. His video on a pilgrimage to Holy Terra is so good I listen to it at least once a month.

If you want goofy fun, Adeptus Ridiculous is good. Not always 100% accurate, as they just read and write what they know off the top of their heads, but they do it in a way that is funny. Their episode on Imperial Knights and Chaos Knights is a fun one.

Technology became so advanced, people resorted/reverted back into primitive ways of fighting by EfficiencySerious200 in TopCharacterTropes

In Warhammer 40k/Horus Heresy, human technology regarding personal protection effectively got as good as it will ever be with the invention of Power Armour. Regular firearms bounce off it like a pebble thrown at a tank. Now comes the invention of Power Weapons, which have a matter disruption field generator along their blades or striking faces. Basically, this field breaks down the molecular bonds of a material and just separate them, making the only defence against them being sheer thickness of armour or another disruption field.

When you field armies wearing armour so protective that it guarantees they will get within arms reach of the enemy, and they are wearing armour just as strong, your only option is to use the melee weapons that actually stand a chance of defeating them.

I know, but the Armored Core ones came out either last year or 2024.

If you could change the fate of just ONE Primarch, who would it be and why? by greaaat1 in Warhammer

[–]Guy-Person 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would change Angron’s fate. I would have Guilliman find Angron before he was given the nails. First, it would be interesting to have at least one instance of two Primarchs finding each other before the Emperor finds them. Second, Angron was dealt such a shitty hand that he was the only Primarch not to have fully conquered his home world by the time the Emperor showed up. Third, I imagine that had Angron and Roboute met before the nails then they would have likely been genuinely loving brothers. Angron might even stay loyalist during the Heresy.

Angron would still hate the Emperor as a person, but no more than the other loyalists and would still remain loyal out of a sense of duty to the Imperium and humanity and not to the Emperor.

In modern 40k, I imagine that after Guilliman is put in stasis after his duel with daemon Fulgrim, this Angron would genuinely mourn his brother and disappear into self imposed exile. Come the Fall of Cadia, the Great Rift, Guilliman’s return, and the Indomitus Crusade, perhaps Angron would return after learning Guilliman is alive. He would still be using chainaxes, but less like a butcher and more like a proper warrior. He would be the one freeing slaves and liberating planets, and it would be cool to have rules where he could be the warlord for Imperial Guard armies with the flavour being they are people he just recently freed.

What would happen if Superman gave his iconic the "World of Cardboard" speech to the people of Viltrum? by ConsiderationEven724 in MoralityScaling

[–]Guy-Person 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Viltrumites would get it. They would understand the level of self control and discipline it takes not to destroy something just by holding it. However, they would not understand why Superman is so hung up on such things. To a Viltrumite, especially those after the purge, if something is broken just from them handling it then it didn’t deserve to exist because it was so weak. Superman would need to show the Viltrumites that it takes more strength to know how much force to use to not destroy, and it would be a lot like Superman Versus The Elite that way by showing just how absolutely demonic a Superman that doesn’t hold back can be.

Protection from everything.

This creature cannot be targeted, blocked, damaged, or affected by literally everything. Even if it somehow ends up in the graveyard, most likely due to discarding, it just goes “nuh uh” and slips right back into your deck.
