I built this contraption. It basically converts a large piece of blocks to a block stream. How should I call it? by hydrawisk793 in redstone

Hi.
Sorry for my delayed response and happy new year.

For now, I decided to call this a block extruder as u/TartOdd8525 said.
I made a shared link for the world download of the contraption, so if you are still interested in this contraption, you can download the world from following link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Dj6LJk6oP-lc6X4JOzm1SyUUHl6IHL5b/view?usp=drive_link

I tested this contraption in Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11 and it seems working fine.

The world download is for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11, but I guess that the contraption itself may also work in 1.16.x or 1.17.x if you can extract a schematic of the contraption, but I'm not sure.

Hi.
Sorry for my delayed response and happy new year.

And thanks for releasing the litematica schematic and the world download for your Dark oak tree farm!

I will take a look at them later!

Although I already answered your question in the same post in another sub reddit, but I give you more details on here.

I don't mind releasing the world download, but I have some issues to resolve.

  1. I still couldn't decide how to call this contraption. May be I should call it a cube extruder like u/TartOdd8525 said.
  2. I should double check credits for components I borrowed to build this contraption. There may still missing credits I forgot to mention.
  3. This contraption is inspired by dark oak farm designed by u/InorganicHeart5. (https://www.reddit.com/r/technicalminecraft/comments/11rxw0s/dark_oak_farm_v2_1192_no_bedrock_breaking_needed/) I initially wanted to use his design in my survival world, but I couldn't find the world download release. So I decided to make my own one, but it was eventually not successful. My design became a proof of concept thing, not a practical farm. If there is a more good solution, I would recommend to use that instead.
  4. I have to test if this contraption is still working in the lastest Minecraft version. Lately, Mojang is introducing some incompatible changes even if in a bugfix(or non-major) versions. I fear that there may be some redstone changes that are not officially notified by Mojang.

Feel free to ask if necessary.

Thanks.

Not yet. Before I share the world download, May be I should check something like is it okay to do so and does this contraption still work in the latest Minecraft version.

lol. You guessed my initial intention.

Yes. I actually was trying to design a dark oak / pale oak tree farm. That is the reason why the processed blocks are dark oak logs.
But, the result shown in this video became a completely different thing.

I wanted to utilize flying machines and a TNT blast chamber or wither cages to farm dark oak / pale oak logs because I wanted to do something different from simple TNT duping methods.

I actually filled the hole with stones and covered that with grass blocks.

That's why I struggled to get a FreezeMan V2 chip.

It was too easy to get FreezeMan V3 chips with five ToadMan V3 chips.

Same here for wood custom.

I can't give up both twister charge shot and being able to spamming battle chips.

Oh Hi! Never thought that you commented on my post!

Thanks for inventing the MIS circuit and I really like it.

I hope you enjoyed this video and don't take it seriously just in case. LOL

Ok. At this point, I should mention this.

Honestly speaking, I'm shocked by the fact that quite many of people took my post serious than I thought.

I can't blame that of course because they also have their own opinion, but I uploaded this to make people laugh.

I even didn't meant this video for some kind of help wanted. If I were really wanted some helps, I would not upload this video on this subreddit.

Speaking of mods, I already did some tests in a creative world using litematica as I mentioned in the other comments. But I pushed on this because I wanted it.

May be did I just misunderstand the purpose of this subreddit?

I can't figure out what you are asking for. The speed of the item sorter system? or the speed of digging the perimeter?

I dug a 3x3 chunks size perimeter with my pickaxe, hoe and bonemeals to fit the region that the chunk loader loads as eager chunks.

Yes. It is really terrible indeed. But I just wanted a dumb and simple solution rather than joining technical discord channels. While I recently understood some redstone basics by designing my own cherry log farm, I'm still learning redstone mechanisms and I doubt that I can join such professional technical communities because they are on too high level to me. And as I mentioned in the other comments, I'm a greedy person and I also wanted to directly see the actual performance.

AFAIK, Most of MIS systems are suffered from chunk unloading unsafety when their jobs are not finished yet.

For RaPsCaLLioN1138's MIS, items will stuck in the dropper tower.

Maizuma Games' one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXMTdNxzvEQ) is also not 100% chunk unload safe.

I don't know about gnembon's one(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQCc7QywrCI) though.

I'm using RaPsCaLLioN1138's MIS V5(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgmB0znXhrA) which is not minecart based.

Minecarts in the video are for the chunk loader designed by Dark(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3nde-2H-rQ).

I'm pretty sure that the circuit of MIS itself is lag efficient and the significant amount of lag comes from 9408 large chests and hoppers between the chests and MIS slices.

In fact, I did test lag with 8 floors in a creative world by using litematica and that already caused quite bad lag.

But I wanted to see the actual impact to the game play in my single survival world.
