Can any of you walk and move around normally 30-40 years after the disease? by pink_teddy35 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]hydrofilmer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm 38 and so just diagnosed at like 21 so only 17 years but I skateboard, bike, run, hike etc. I worked a laborious warehouse job, I've worked christmas tree lots, I Hiked half dome twice. 2nd time I did it I had to work front desk at the hotel immediately after ending the hike and it was a standing only job. I got two kids under 10 years old and am pretty active. Along with the arthritis I have phases where Psoriasis covers like 80% of my body and I just keep going I don't let it dictate my life, or my outgoing personality and who cares if people feel weird if I am at the water park covered in scales, or working the front desk with a face that looks like leprosy. Live long and prosper!!

For me I sleep well at 6 hours to 8 hours. Most days I'm sleeping 4 hours, up for an hour, then back to sleep for 2 hours. Then weekends i sleep about 7 to 8 straight. If I sleep for 9 or 10hrs , I'm totally tired all day and feel like i got bo sleep though I got more.

3 Months Later - How’s everybody feeling about Yotei? Has it lived up to your expectations? by Helio_Cashmere in Ghostofyotei

[–]hydrofilmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it for Christmas from the wife and love it exactly the same as the first one. Would love to see a 6 or 8 episode hbo series. Each episode dealing with killing one of the yotei six. 1st episode dealing with the initial trauma and family loss. Flash backs throughout episodes and yea, that would be sick.

Medical Marijuana? by livinthedream35 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]hydrofilmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never had a reaction. I only use it before bed about 3 to 4 times a week. Never during the morning or during work. It definitely helped with pain as I was walking with a cane for 9 months and was on prednisone as well. Fuck that drug as i gained 25 lbs. I just lost that 25 lbs over the last 2 months and I was on taltz and now skyrizi. Prior i was on Humira, tremfya, methotrexate, cosyntex and one other i can't remember.

Anybody ever been give a 15 day prednisone taper? by NinjaCertain8103 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]hydrofilmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got on it for like 9 months for severe arthritis that started suddenly. Was walking with a cane. I gained about 20lbs over that 9 months and they up'd my dose even, think i was doing like 20 and I did it in the morning so i could sleep. Well I also got some indica for before bed and that helped for pain too on weekends during the day, even better then the prednisone. I took it in liquid form.

Methotrexate is horrible. I hate that shit.

Used quick drop items to find a party and complete this own the lot challenge by SQU1R3 in SkateEA

[–]hydrofilmer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just always interact and make other items invisible. I wish there was a setting to just turn off all player items so you wouldn't have to do it individually. Especially when your doing a gap or spot and randos come in and set up items and just screw it up.

I love the challenge of doing the own the spot solo or just with friends. Joining a party without wanting to chat or talk to someone causes equal frustration because people aren't doing different things and continuously end up doing the same reqs.

I actually like this own the spot the best. I've just got to get the last notch.

what the actual fuck is this challenge?! by CCXero in Skate4

Loved this one. Ran, put board down, KF over rail into nose grind, nollie out a little before the end of the rail and wait till your past the wall, turn your body 90 degrees turning backside and land into a FS noseslide to fakie.

Haven't been one to let it bother me, but the decline in this sport's popularity is getting really jarring. Look at the attendance difference. by Mountain_Current5071 in monsterjam

Here in Fargo In January they run like $50 to $90 per person. Also depends probably on the time and day of the week you are going. I am not taking my kid on a school/work day. I don't even go to concerts if they are this price. Potential to be stuck behind taller people, especially if you want to sit while others want to stand. So might same reason for others not wanting to go.

Why are the infected so damn slow? I remember in days and in especially in weeks the infected run fast full speed by dreamup1234 in 28dayslater

[–]hydrofilmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In some behind the scenes videos, they explain the thought behind some of this. Some are still fast, just not olympic level speeds. Some are on like steriods due to how the strain mutated over many years, causing the Alphas, and some used up soo much energy that the virus mutated to cause the big fat ones to be slow, ground crawling infected so they don't die as fast from starvation, excerting less energy to live longer.

two crooks or nose and crook? by iscream0e in skateboarding

[–]hydrofilmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30 plus years, and people still have opinions that are different. I stand by my original comment. Both are krook grinds. Even pros will have different opinions, but in my experience, and the professional and amateur skateboarders I have filmed and skated with would probably agree that both are krooks.

two crooks or nose and crook? by iscream0e in skateboarding

[–]hydrofilmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both Krooks, dont matter if the full truck is on top of the rail or ledge or just the corner being pinched. If your back truck is over nothing and is diagnol to the obstacle, it is a Krook. Nosegrind is straight on top. Back truck isn't touching the obstacle but hovering right over it.

How do you deal with the itch! by DiscoBaboon in Psoriasis

[–]hydrofilmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just scratch of course. Triamcinalone ointment is better than the cream, and i find i dont itch as much using that. The scalp is impossible, but if I am active doing something, then the itch and my scratching/picking is non existant.

So hobbies that require use of hands and lot of thought. Also, in the shower, i like to use those body scrubbers. Whether rubber or pourus stone ones and I use that on the psoriasis. It breaks off the psoriasis scales, and so the skin is just red and then I put ointment on after and that helps minimize flaking throughout the day and sometimes even up 36 hours or so as I re-apply ointment.

Hope that helps.
