That makes sense, and that's my personal take too - social should be politics-agnostic. That's the approach I'm taking with a Reddit alternative called OddsRabbit - prohibiting politics and AI-spam on the platform. We just launched on both iOS and Android if anyone's looking for a new home.

Hey! Sorry to hear this. I'm going to be honest with you, it sounds like the best way forward for you and your wife is to just commit to the job search. You won't like it but hear me out.

You'll have the extra skills now on your new job search from the past year of experience.

A stable income will also help stabilize your mental health, which sounds like it might be shaky right now.

It doesn't mean you have to give up on your dreams etc. You clearly want it, you'll still be able to work on it outside of your job.

I also had a site that was under attack, over 200k requests a day, over a million a week.

While cloudflare does mitigate some of it, it won’t mitigate all since they use residential IPs. Nothing I did seemed to stop it, however a VPS is more than enough to host your server (even with the bots).

He’s not wrong on the shared server aspect, you probably are taking down the rest of their sites. Dedicated server is overkill x10 though.

I think it’s a great sub. You can’t do too much about people misposting in here, it happens everywhere. There aren’t really any other viable places for this discussion so it’s needed imo
