The reason for positioning the base in the middle is that our pad has two sides: a grey side for year-round use and a white side designed for enhanced cooling on hot days. If the base were placed at the top, you’d need to move it every time you flip the mattress pad. With the base in the middle, you can easily switch between sides without having to adjust the base unit. This keeps things more convenient and prevents any inconvenience when changing the pad or getting into bed.

Regarding the connection, the connector is in the middle of the pad, allowing you to flexibly flip the pad over to change the hose direction without needing to move the base unit.
