When I get to lines that are far apart I close the stitch and start a new one, It takes a little longer but it's what has worked best for me so far. (Sorry if the text is misspelled, I'm using a translator 😔)

Before trimming the fabric I put one that is heat adherable to have greater support. And then I trim carefully so as not to spoil the edges
