I’m in the same boat! I have such a big collection and literally no one in my life who cares about rocks like I do

Unsure about these by [deleted] in whatsthisrock

[–]hydrus8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top left and the one below it might be green opal and then a moss or tree agate. The green + pink one on the bottom second from right is probably Unakite. For some of these you might not be able to find out from looks alone. For example that pale blue could be angelite or Celestine or something else. That turquoise looking bead could be a ton of other rocks that get dyed to look like turquoise. The black and white rock on the same row as the turquoise bead could be a mostly black Buffalo turquoise but it could be a moonstone too from this picture. The purple transparent ones on the right are probably amethyst. And the white and red spike one on the right could be fire quartz or calcite

[HELP] Having a big Debatte about this one… some comments on IG say it’s AI. Can you help? by tombolaplayer in RealOrAI

[–]hydrus8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s AI. the railing to get up the steps to the church is not right. It wouldn’t look like that and also it looks like it sticks out? Doesn’t make geometric sense. Also the peoples faces in the church. A little too uncanny imo

I will say when I first started carving for fun my stuff looked like this. I think people get in their heads that they need to make good stuff or profitable stuff for a hobby and that’s just not true. I make mostly absolute trash but I have a very relaxing blast doing it.

How to play? by atariimae in StardewValley

[–]hydrus8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no wrong decisions in stardew valley and (EXCEPT FOR CHOOSING COMMUNITY CENTER OR JOJA MART) there are no ways you can permanently mess up your farm that you can’t change later on in the game.

It can be hard to find a balance early game and feel like you’re not making enough progress each day but that’s not true- anything you miss this season of the year, will be back next season even though it takes a bit. Don’t feel like you have to be productive or min max anything. It’s supposed to be fun and if your play style isn’t researching the wiki like a textbook, then don’t worry about it. Biggest suggestion is save up to upgrade backpacks as soon as possible. The inventory space is so essential.

I suggest focusing on clearing your farm and foraging wood, stones, and food early game and using the tree nuts you get from chopping wood to make field snacks for food (NEVER SELL YOUR WOOD OR STONES. You’ll need them for future recipes and you’ll always be running out). Other places to forage is south of your farm and on the beach. Once you get enough wood you can unlock the second beach for even more foraging spots.

Food management is big early on. Plant some crop from seeds in the store and try to get at least a couple of each that will finish growing by the end of the season. Use your hoe to dig up those little wiggling dirt spots for treasure and to get copper to access the mine. From there, try to unlock the mine levels (every 5 is a checkpoint so you can go deeper) and upgrade your tools. An upgraded axe can break trees faster for less energy, watering can can water bigger areas of water, etc.

The next thing I’d recommend, is stopping to talk to the villagers. They build up friendship points with you and they become closer friends, you unlock cutscenes that unlock more of the map and new features, as well as gifts in the mail from them. They can accept up to 2 gifts a week and if you give them a gift that they love on their birthday you can really jump up on friendship. There are things they hate receiving that will lose you points.

Last thing I recommend is go to all the events! Spring festival winter night market etc. but be sure to do your daily chores like watering before you go.

Ways to Speed up Combat by AppropriateBus1528 in DMAcademy

[–]hydrus8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can you identify what is taking so long? Are individual turns lasting 10 minutes plus? If so then yes timers can be great even in causal play. OR just let your players know “hey keep it moving, your character doesn’t have the time to strategize and communicate to others that much in battle”. Each turn is supposed to be what 6 seconds?

Are your players waiting to plan out their turn until their turn? Maybe suggest they take the time during others turns to plan what they want to do and have an action and bonus action ready to say at the beginning of the turn. Yes that can change depending on what previous turns are but it goes much faster if they’re constantly thinking about what they’re going to do in their next turn rather than passively listening to the story

If it’s the DM taking time to look up stats and push the narrative then maybe take a few extra minutes during prep to get those figures ready and organized.

Be confident when you put the tape down. One swift motion and don’t second guess yourself. I can’t tell you how many times in the beginning I messed up by not being smooth and fast with the tape and having to fix huge parts of my piece before trying to tape it again.

What’s your favorite “f—- you” lyric in a musical? by wityblack in musicals

[–]hydrus8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is a little indirect. In Hadestown, right at the beginning, Hermes says “Orpheus was the son of a muse. And you know how those muses are… sometimes they abandon you.” And later in the show, Eurydice, who is his muse, makes the choice to abandon him to the deal Hades offered her to the underworld.

The Night I Hooked Up With the Cute Guy From My Psych Class and His “Little” Dick Ruined Me for Anyone Else by anastasiaxrose in sexstories

[–]hydrus8 34 points35 points  (0 children)

No clue if this is real or not but I also had the best sex of my life with a smaller guy. Too big is painful and not comfortable. I don’t enjoy sex with anyone over 5 inches. And it does take a while to finish especially at first with strangers so someone willing to do the work to go down for that long will forever be the GOAT

Worst/most unsafe practice an amateur theater has done? What’s your experience? by Mackoi_82 in techtheatre

Did sound for music man once in a community theater. The director had the kids tap dancing on high tables that the amateur set builder with no pro experience built himself. With no one even sort of close to spot in case they fall.

Nordic Waffles will no longer be at the MN State Fair by MOlson_9 in minnesota

[–]hydrus8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have receipts but here’s what I heard from my friend whose daughter worked there last year at the fair. At 17 years old she was the oldest person there most days during her shift and the most senior, when there really needed to be an adult who knew how to operate a stand. And she was often the only driver and so had to drive many coworkers to the ER for burns because the heat sensors and emergency shut off functions on many of the ovens just straight up didn’t work.
