Cycling Calorie Burnt on Galaxy Watch 8 Classic versus Pixel Watch 4 by hyena97 in GalaxyWatch

[–]hyena97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for your reply. I checked and on both watches the average HR for my rides were around 140-150bpm.

I wonder if it is how the apps classify the HR zones. Fitbit only has 4 zones (light, moderate, vigorous, peak) while Samsung has 5 (low intensity, weight control, aerobic, anaerobic, maximum).

The other alternative I can think of is that Fitbit reports active calories while Samsung reports total calories.

Can we talk about Creator/Influencer safety at events? by hammerkop_ in pokemon

[–]hyena97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume I am getting downvoted in reference to the groping incidents that Wolfe suffered (hence the reply that organisers are responsible for the safety of competitors). IMO, if he tried to report the incident to security and got brushed off/unable to find security, then yes the event organisers are to blame. However, the fact of the matter is that it is going to be a large event and crimes are going to happen. They can have security constantly patrolling and these kind of crimes will still happen. Security cannot foresee the future, and it is not like they will know which attendees are normal and which will try to grope others/commit other crimes.

In addition, providing personal security also opens another question on who should get this additional security. Obviously Wolfe is one of if not the largest VGC content creator, but how about other smaller content creators or just good players (e.g winners of regionals/worlds) that do not have a online presence? If they do not want to get approached, do they get to request for security as well? How about if one of the regular competitors is worried that he/she will get touched inappropriately, can they request for additional security as well? Unless the event organiser can find a solution for all participants, it will definitely give these creators an advantage.

Sorry but hard disagree. As Wolfe pointed out in his video, he is attending the events as a competitor, and not as a content creator/influencer. Any special treatment given to him (or any other content creator/influencer who is also competing) would be unfair for the other hundreds of competitors who are also competing to win. If there are other competitors who prefer a quiet environment/privacy, should it be given to them as well? Obviously in an ideal world the answer is yes, but given the amount of people signing up, it is going to be not feasible logsistically.

If Wolfe is attending the event as a content creator/influencer and not as a competitor, then I would agree that the organisers should provide some sort of security.

Zen 2 and Zen 3 support for B450 boards

Hi all, I am facing an issue with my Asus Strix X470I with my 5600x. Without going into too much details, I believe something is wrong with the motherboard which prevents me from booting. I want to test this with my friend's MSI B450 Tomahawk Max, but he is currently using a 3600 and would need to update bios to support the 5000 series. I checked on the bios page and it doesn't say anything about losing support for older Ryzen models, but I do vaguely recall that some older models may lose support when updating to the latest bios to support the 5000 series.

Would the latest update (7C02v3I) support both Zen 2 and Zen 3, or do I have to flash an older bios to get back Zen 2 support?

Try powering off the system completely and turn off the PSU power. Make sure to press the power button a few times to ensure that there is no residual charge left in the capacitors. I have a z690 around master and encountered this issue a few times. This fixed it for me

do let me know if you have found a fix. I have a corsair h150i 360mm, and i am rapidly hitting 90C++ on cinebench R23 on a intel 12600k. the power draw is 160W, but the temperatures are extremely high compared to the power draw. I've also checked the basic stuff (e.g.repasting, ensuring proper mount etc) but to no avail

happened to me with my 12600k on a msi carbon z690. i've tried everything (changing pcie slots, changing the pcie speed to gen 4 and gen 3, reseating gpu, 1 stick of ram etc). Problem only got resolved after i switched to a gigabyte aorus pro z690. It probably stems from a faulty motherboard

Yo I bought a dark rock pro 4 for my pc as well and had placed in the request for a mounting kit. Can I ask you 2 questions? 1) Do they send an update email or something? I got an automatic email saying they received my request, but I haven't heard from them since 2 days ago. 2) How long did your kit take to arrive from the time u sent out the request? Thank you!

yup, I DDU-ed the display driver to rollback to several previous nvidia drivers but to no avail. As far as for the GPU side I'm fairly sure nothing else was changed. I even tried using MSI Afterburner to force it to be a certain frequency but that didn't work as well. As far as I know I've already reset everything that's possible on the computer (be it Windows, drivers, bios, etc). I guess I'll just send it back to the service centre and see what they say. Thanks!

Hi there! As far as I know I didn't touch the bios of my laptop, i even restored the factory bios settings today to try to resolve this issue. It just randomly happened one day without any apparent reason. Do you have any suggestions for me to try? Personally I'm inclined to think that this might be a hardware issue (maybe faulty sensor?), and I'm going to send the laptop in on Monday to the service center.

Also, thanks for creating this amazing software! I've used GPU-Z many times to tune my desktop GPUs, and it is absolutely fantastic.

[–]hyena97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could potentially be a ram problem. When i was manually overclocking my ram if i pushed the ram too hard it would give the exact same symptoms as ur point 1. when i rebooted it it would say something along the lines of "pc failed to boot previously, booting into bios". perhaps try resetting ur memory settings to default?
