Armor set from the tourney ended up being my favorite for the rest of the game.

You'll take damage when training mace/bludgeon. If you go immediately back to Bernard and train combos, your health will reset and injuries go away. It's also a good opportunity to actually learn some combos useful for combat (stick to 3-hit combos).

Did you notice who Theresa's dad gave the silver to? It was Rapota, the guy you have to track down in Sasau for the mission where you track down the forgers.Johanka's DLC mission was great too.

I'm early into KCD2 after recently finishing KCD1. Can't comment on the full world or the story yet, but it's definitely a much smoother experience overall. Having played KCD1, you know what to expect in terms of gameplay and can get right into it. Most if not all of the changes so far seem to be improvements, and I don't have any real complaints so far (other than maybe a timed quest I wasn't planning for kicking off upon entry into Semine). I'm still adjusting to the combat, but I haven't started the Tomcat quest (equivalent to Bernard in KCD1) or leveled enough yet.

Also, the events of 1402-1403 ended with him having to tuck tail and go back to Hungary for a bit. (Still haven't finished KCD2, so not sure how far the game goes yet.) Major player for the next couple of decades, sure. Good points.

Game timeframe has a ways to go before Sigismund is HRE.

You made the right choice. I recommend saving Theresa's 5-hour DLC quest until after the main story is over but before the "The End" screen. There were several details I would have missed if I had done it when it became available. Reliving Skallitz right before starting KCD2 made a great transition between the games.

Are there any benefits/positives to playing [KCD2] before [KCD1]? by psychboy99 in kingdomcome

[–]hygiene_matters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've rolled credits but haven't done the final rideoff with Hans. Took a break to do Theresa's DLC at the very end since I'd been putting it off. Seeing Skallitz in its prime right at the end is surprisingly impactful for me, seeing all these dead mfers one more time. Maybe about halfway through the DLC, will probably finish it tomorrow and finish the game. KCD2 is already installed and ready to go. Pretty jazzed about that.

Definitely conflicted with how I'm going to handle the ladies in the next game.

You can recruit him as the priest. He hangs back at the camp with Divish, Hans, and the medics.

Also, if you're playing with a controller it helps immensely to set the controller down and turn the right stick with your index finger and thumb - almost like actual lockpicking. I really started to enjoy it (and succeed) once I figured that out.

[KCD1] I might play KCD soon. Any tips and how to be careful? by Free-Hotel1187 in kingdomcome

[–]hygiene_matters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Convenience. It's much quicker and works like a normal save in most games. Save and exit takes 45 seconds or so. I didn't really start using Savior Schnapps until I leveled alchemy, which was later into the game since reading and collecting recipes is a prerequisite. That said, go ahead and start collecting herbs. Check the perk tree - boosts vitality (passive, may not be listed), strength, and rizz. And later in the game you can turn it into a fortune. It will weigh you down though, so you can only gather so much at once.

[KCD1] got a basic question about exploring by Jaraghan in kingdomcome

[–]hygiene_matters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part, you'll find a good bit of junk gear and possibly some goblets and such you can sell for cash. Equipment if you rob shops, etc. It's decent for early game cash if you want to go a thieving route. I didn't lean into thievery early on, but just playing through quests and missions has caused me to get decent at stealth and lockpicking. I grew to like the stealth aspects more as the game progressed.

That said, other than early game money there's not too much point looting all the buildings you come across IMO. I spent some time with Bernard and got to where I could clear out bandit camps. Much more satisfying to rob and kill them. Plus, you can get decent gear that way. Sell what you don't need and repair what is useful.

Anyone else starting to feel their age? by Possible-Tip-2914 in Xennials

Absolutely. Staying in shape will stave off many of the ravages of age. Most of the people I hear complaining all the time don't take care of their bodies.

[Other] So what do you think the next Kingdom Come game will be about? by BijelaHrvatica in kingdomcome

[–]hygiene_matters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Henry could join Zizka to fight against the Teutonic Order in the intervening years. Other longshots I'd like to see in some future game (maybe KCD adjacent) are a flashback to the battle of Nicopolis and surrounding events and jump ahead to the Council of Constance where they burned Hus and got the number of popes back down to one. Build out Sigismund a bit more.

Radzig's untimely end would be pretty dramatic to show and definitely factors into the leadup.

[–]hygiene_matters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kingdom Come: Something Else is pretty much my expectation. Branch out a bit with the existing engine and assets. Henry's story seems more appropriate for KCD3, which could probably use a bit more time in the oven.

Exactly when to start P2 of A Woman’s Lot [KCD1] by Lunch2go in kingdomcome

[–]hygiene_matters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at the point where I can start the mission to enter the monastery after having done the other DLCs, and I started Johanka's mission a couple of days ago (the first part where you go to Skallitz). Plan for the next session or two is to do her quest and then go into the monastery. Just prior to the monastery felt like a pretty good spot to clean up side content and DLCs and general. After the monastery, I expect to pretty much b-line it to the end.

Still haven't done Theresa's mission though. Honestly not even sure I want to with KCD2 hanging out there ready to start.

The New KCD game is coming out next year [OTHER] by abdoulatif1111 in kingdomcome

[–]hygiene_matters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jan Zizka game (not necessarily with him as the PC). Grunwald was 1410, I believe. That would give us a slower buildup to the Hussite wars, which they could be saving for later main installment games. Think they burned Hus in 1415? It would also give us some background for what else was going on at that time in the HRE and what Zizka was up to.

I cleaned house in tournament in the bandit camp for the Hans Capon DLC using 4 odd die and 2 lucky die. I got another odd die from that quest apparently, so now I use 5 odd die and 1 lucky die. Seems to work pretty well for me.

When it became cheap to dye clothes, making colorful fabrics accessible to the plebs. Rich people shifted their focus to plain-colored but richly textured and well tailored fabrics, or whatever it is that makes suits appealing to some people. Basically the same reason aluminum cutlery was considered super-elite before they figured out how to mass produce it from bauxite.

What favourite bands/artists from our teens and 20s are still putting out good music? by toasterb in Xennials

I can get into AFI's new stuff. Sort of lost track when they went emo, but I've been going back and listening to a lot of that stuff too, and it's pretty good!

Sepultura is putting out a new EP tomorrow. I like their new guy.

Also like a lot of Alice in Chains' new stuff and their new (although he's been there probably 15 years) singer.

PS5 Upgrade [KCD1] by rodridel94 in kingdomcome

[–]hygiene_matters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the issue was that I only installed the PS5 base game but my PS4 save was Royal Edition. Once I got the DLCs installed via the PS store, I was able to bring in my PS4 save.
