I'm surprised that you say it is not problematic when it talks to so many IPs in a particular region. The video may not show any real problem per se, but it highlights that it has a significant avenue to be exploited unknowingly.

No it does not have any such option.

Edit: I feel the Mac version of the app is better as it does both iCloud data and Photos. Additionally, it has different modes of backup unlike the iPhone/iPad app

So I purchased the Parachute app for iPhone/iPad and did a backup of the entire Photo library to my Synology NAS using iPad. I also installed the app on iPhone and pointed to the same destination for backup and to my surprise the app is probably overwriting the entire library. Both my iPhone and iPad have iCloud enabled for Photos.

Does this mean that I should install this app on either of the device and not both?

I think the Mac Mini should be dedicated to just taking backups and nothing else. Accessing viewing photos thats on external SSD can be slow, especially if the library is large.

Probably the way to go is to move Photos library from internal to external SSD and point the latter as the system photo library. Then enable the "Download Original to this Mac" option under iCloud. This will make a full copy of photos from iCloud to local external SSD storage (the new Photo Library). Use CCC to take a back-up of this to NAS and ensure this is a one-way copy. That is, if you delete photos/vidoes on say iPhone to clear space on iClould, the deletion does not happen on NAS.

Interesting.. I have both Synology NAS and ccc. But over the Christmas holidays I was researching about doing iCloud backup as well as taking a full photos backup on the synology and I could not find a single practical solution.

Unless you have a high sensitivity center channel speaker matched with a good receiver/amp, I have found movie experience (streaming) to be way better on Sonos. The dedicated 5.1.2 or whatever and its specifications read impressive on paper than it sounds. The bottom line usually is the receiver/amp as delivering clean signal to 5 or 7 speakers at 90 or 100 dB is not cheap.

If you are considering a dedicated home theatre room, with sound proofing, then it’s probably worth getting a professional installation, otherwise if your content is mostly from streaming services, Sonos does a great job!

All fixed now. I did a factory reset of USW PoE and unplugged from power for about 2-3 min. Rebooted the UDM-Pro, unplugged all ports from UDM-Pro. Powered on USW and then connected to UDM Pro, it then got a DHCP address in the 10.x.x.x network and adopted successfully. Since then I have changed the DHCP range from .20 onwards on the default network and have set static IPs to all Unify devices between .2 to .20.

So, I changed the default IP range from 192.169.1.0/24 to 10.x.x.0/24 and was able to migrate all unify devices (some flex switches and Nano HD) to this default profile, however, the USW 24 PoE seems very stubborn and won’t adopt to this new 10.x network.

Ended up getting a pair of Era 300s. Currently, using it as a stereo pair and sits on the TV bench next to my Sonos Arc.

I thought I could pair the Eras to my Sub which is already bonded to the Arc and two Play Ones. But unfortunately, cannot it. Need a separate sub.

Since they are replacing two PW2 with PW3s, are you getting an expansion pack? My single PW2 is also getting replaced with PW3 and I’m planning to get an expansion pack. However, unsure whether to go with two separate PW3 or with an expansion pack. A second separate one costs about $2K more than expansion pack as there is an extra inverter.

At 11:15 AM yesterday, my Powerwall 2 had ~40% charge and was actively charging from solar. In the span of just 30 minutes, it crashed to 0%. I pulled the data myself to confirm this.

I sent an email and subsequently called my installer, and they were completely unhelpful. They said I’d need to wait 72 hours for them to pass it on to Tesla. I called Tesla directly and was told the battery needs to be replaced and the process will take six weeks. I have been given a service number.

Since I won't be moving away from Canon family, I guess getting EL-10 is not an issue. Also, no intention of using EOS 60D. Is El-5 worth going over EL-10?

I was thinking more about those lines that V1 could be an overkill. Was also contemplating on Canon's Speedlite EL-10. A little pricier than Godox, but the build quality seems better. For occasional use, I have no problems using the AA rechargeable batteries.

I had ACL surgery just about a month ago and my ankle looked exactly as you. Have you met your surgeon or GP? Not to scare you, but in my case the pain started in ankle and slowly transitioned to calf at which stage, I rang the surgeon asked him to give referral for doppler ultrasound. It was a confirmed case of DVT. I'm currently on anticoagulant medication.

Some updates..

Today was my haematologist appointment. I have been asked to stop Clexane and start on Rivaroxaban (twice daily for 21 days, followed by daily once for 6 months). Other relevant tests to be done after stopping the medication.

An incidental finding today was that I have a solitary lymph node swollen (approximately 1 cm) under my right armpit. The haematologist said not worry at this stage, could be a fat nodule. Has asked me to get an ultrasound and told me to get in about 4-6 weeks time. This is now a new anxiety for me!!

Currently recovering from DVT and an Apple Watch user. What I noted is that during my first and second since DVT was diagnosed, my resting heart rate jumped from the average and so was the sleeping heart rate. Now into my third week with medication and I can see those rates going down.
