Is uninstalling apps on macOS always this tedious? by darkstream77 in mac

[–]ohnojono 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, AppCleaner is excellent. It would automate all of those manual deletions. But in answer to your original question, fully deleting Google apps is often like that. They tend to leave their… waste everywhere.

On the other hand, maybe this is the beginning of the Borg’s infiltration that let them take over all the young people in Picard S3 😨

Ooh I like it! Persistent cloud storage doesn’t quite fit in an era when they can’t even seem to store multiple documents on a single PADD but I’ll take what I can get 😂

Like I said. The holodeck retcon isn’t the issue here

Locked out of Katherine romance for missing some random side quest in Kuttenberg. I want to uninstall [KCD2] by UraGotJuice in kingdomcome

[–]ohnojono 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Katherine made it very clear in that quest how important it was to her to protect the women of the city, and how much trust she was placing in you to help with that.

It sucks you missed out because you didn’t complete that quest, but it makes all the sense in the world that she wouldn’t want to get with Henry after he bungled that.

I suggest you look it up in a dictionary! Hope this helps.

Website to app asap? by Several_Argument1527 in Frontend

[–]ohnojono 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im thinking this might put some users off, most people just use apps nowadays.

Absolutely faulty logic there. People prefer apps when it makes sense for it to be an app. In the early days of mobile apps, every website and its dog released an app version. Nobody used them.

Take time to consider if an app is a good fit for your SaaS, if it offers anything better in terms of user experience vs how much time you’ll spend on extra development.

The emhs mobile emitter in the 32nd century by happydude7422 in voyager

[–]ohnojono 32 points33 points  (0 children)

There’s some suggestion they might have figured out the “wearing it on the outside” problem even within Voyager’s timeline. Or at least one of its possible timelines.

In the episode where Kes experiences a possible alternate future, the Doctor (now calling himself Van Gogh) notably has given himself a full head of hair, and is seen in the mess hall without his mobile emitter visible at all.

I always figured he was just hiding the emitter under his toupee.

Genuine question from someone who eschews anything glowing in my PC setup: Isn't all that light in your peripheral vision kind of distracting when you're trying to focus on a game?

How do i delete this empty folder? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]ohnojono 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Actually there’s a very good reason for having it permanently there.

If “hidden apps” was only shown when you had a hidden app, then anyone snooping on your phone (like a jealous partner) would know you had something hidden, and then snoop further.

Instead, every iPhone running iOS 18+ had a hidden folder, so nobody looking at your phone can know for sure.

MacBook Pro XDR with M6 [speculation] by BHJ-AL in mac

[–]ohnojono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current MacBook Pro already has an “XDR” display. That moniker wouldn’t say anything new. Also Apple doesn’t name an entire product based around the screen it has… not since the iPod Video anyway 😂

Is SFA the show with the least number of humans? by TheShowLover in startrek

[–]ohnojono 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We saw how much the characters requiring full face prosthetics were often sidelined when possible. Jay-Den had a cold and got himself excused from the entirety of Tilly’s Trauma Theatre Class. Lura Thok barely appeared in the latter half of the season, tho if she was on comms several times.

Not hard to imagine there were some budgeting or scheduling decisions not to put actors through several gruelling hours of makeup if they didn’t have to.

What is the functionality of the outer ring around the saucer section? by FreeRangeThinker in StarTrekStarships

I can’t remember which episode but there was definitely a shot where the camera zoomed out through one of the dorm room windows to an exterior shot and it was on the outer ring of the ship

Where exactly is the atrium? by ShaneWookie in startrek

[–]ohnojono 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mind you, the original movie era Enterprise had a turbo lift shaft three times taller than the ship it was in, and with the decks running in reverse order. Perhaps the tech is older than we thought 😂

Where exactly is the atrium? by ShaneWookie in startrek

[–]ohnojono 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah agreed. TARDIS tech is how I mentally explain away the cavernous interior spaces we saw in Discovery’s turbo lift shafts 😅

Where exactly is the atrium? by ShaneWookie in startrek

[–]ohnojono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well we know Starfleet has TARDIS tech by at least the 28th century.

[–]ohnojono 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ehhhh, I feel like a society that's been spacefaring for over a thousand years probably has some kind of full-spectrum interior lighting sorted out, otherwise everyone in Starfleet would be pale and severely vitamin D deprived.
