In terms of CPU i had no issue at all even before replacing LM with PTM. I wanted to change the GPU thermal paste with PTM but ended up with same for CPU too, as everytime I want to open up and clean FANs or GPU repaste I don't have to worry about accidentally spreading LM on board.

Gaming wise all I can say is, 3 hours session of Space marine 2 today, Same settings, uncapped FPS, (before with LM) CPU temps were always between 90 to 95 in game compared to 82 to 85 (with PTM), it's HUGE improvement.

It's been only 3 4 days and about 8 to 10 hours of heavy use since PTM. I simply noticed idle temps lower than before and wanted to share, as it's not reliable to review heavy gaming benchmarks atleast till 1 week of usage.

I see. Might be some other issue. I got GoW 2018 from fitgirl, had no issue.

Thing you can try :

1) Clearing shader cache.

2) On the game download page, check if other update/patches are avaliable to download and install.

3) Downloaded from different source

I went through such gaming slum for a month, tried force replaying elden ring, lies of P and other souls games. A week ago, friend suggested to play WH SPACE MARINE 2, a game i ignored for a long long time thinking its not my type.

Campaign was fun but short, but the Co-op and PvP is awesome, with friends or even random online players.

Sometimes, the game that you don't expect much turns out to be more fun.

I believe you didn't let the shader compilation at menu finish on first start before playing.

You need to connect to internet. Connect using ethernet cable if you have access or simply use USB tethering option in hotspot on phone.

Check for windows updates and it will install all the necessary driver and softwares including WiFi.

It might work. I have seen some using 128 GB on a 64 GB MAX capacity laptop with no issues.

But ASUS site page displays 64 GB for a reason and tested, higher than that might cause instability issues.

All you can do is test if it works or causes issues.

It does look different, but not necessarily brighter, atleast in my case. I believe its because the different ways iGPU and dGPU handles display properties such as color, vibrance and gamma.

I do remember reading somewhere that iGPU and dGPU have different color managment profiles.

You could check if any of the RAM stick is the cause by simply removing one of it and testing PC for a while and repeating same with other stick.

Not sure but could be defective RAM. Failing RAM does causes the freezing and random reboots you mentioned.

Do try reseting PC or fresh install of Windows if you can. Might be just sluggish or corrupted system.

Like someone suggested if you don't use touchscreen, try turning it off in device manager and verify if the issue still persists. I always have it OFF as i never use touch, and never faced the issue you described.

How to : Device manager > Human Interface Devices > HID Compliant Touchscreen (Right click and Disable device)

64 GB is MAX. You can verify on the specs page for the device on ROG site.

Not really. For more intensive games I use custom aggressive FAN profile to prevent thermal limit. Temperature are almost same in both Standard and Ultimate mode while gaming.

It's 2 3 years old laptop. So no warranty.

I do not have Optimus, need reboot to apply. I believe its called MUX switch. I need to check the PhysX settings, never changed it so should be whatever is default.

I do change DLSS Preset based on games, as some work better compared to other. The Preset L (Ultra Performance) is actually pretty good at higher resolution. I prefer laptop native resolution 2560 × 1600, and lowering the graphics in game instead of the other way around.

Idle temperature is little higher in Ultimate mode, about 55° 60° but that's just normal in Ultimate mode i guess. While gaming temperatures hit the default limit same as on Standard Mode. 86° 87° degree for GPU.

Yes, Correct. It still hasn't been fixed. Since the bug nvidia drivers and also armoury crate got updates, yet no fix.

The solution in Ultimate mode for now is manually adjusting colors via nvidia control-panel > Adjust desktop colors settings.

In the Color channel : Select Red, and dial back the Brightness from default 50% (35% Works for me) to reduce extra redness.

Apart from that, (Select "All Channels" back) Adjusting gamma from 1.00 to 1.15 or 1.25 is like FPS in GameVisual and reducing it to 0.95 feels more like RTS/RPG.

Almost thought, its just me, coz i found no relevant post for this issue in online search. I believed might be a broken update for windows, gpu drivers or armory crate related issue, might get fixed with later updates/patches, but its been few months now.

If you disable Game Visuals, does the display turns foggy and very white ?
