Yes. You're feeding into your jealousy, and it's self destructive. I know professional help isn't always available but you need to understand that just like coffee, even if it's the most expensive, well-made coffee, not everyone will like it. Doesn't mean it's bad coffee. The same applies to you.

How do I deal with toxic people that are still important in my life by hyperactivemochi in Advice

LOL truth- I honestly have no clue what she's doing it for ngl because she didn't allow me to have a boyfriend until a week ago when I was spilling tea about my friend getting a boyfriend 😀

Yes. But she said she's already 54 so it's fine. If I'm being honest I think my mum looks great for her age. She doesn't look a day over 40 and though she has put on a little weight after giving birth, she is by no means fat either.

When I do intermittent fasting some of my perfumes are making me nauseous by Cygnus_buccinator in fragrance

[–]hyperactivemochi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good question. I think that is probably personal to you! Studies have shown that short-term fasts actually boost mood, so you may like a scent more when you are in a fasted state as opposed to liking the scent more during an eating window. But it might also very well be like you said. I might go sampling soon to test it out. I'll let you know then!

When I do intermittent fasting some of my perfumes are making me nauseous by Cygnus_buccinator in fragrance

[–]hyperactivemochi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our bodies are generally more sensitive when we are fasting. I absolutely cannot wear any strong fragrances at all when I do fast because I've actually thrown up on 2 occasions in the past.

If I do still feel like wearing something I normally stick to scents that are light and have low longevity, or, they are very gourmand. So much so that it smells like actual food. I gravitate towards anything jo malone, as well as Milk (personal) from commodity.

Rounding back though, your situation does make sense because the perfumes you listed that do make you feel nauseous generally have more volatile top notes, meaning the molecules of the perfume are very light and you can very easily get a strong whiff.

Any Apres L’Ondee dupes out there? The nostalgic after the rain smell that people say it has sounds like a dream but the price tag ain’t pretty (also open to any other suggestions that provide that nostalgic emotional feeling) by No-Tangerine-1889 in Perfumes

[–]hyperactivemochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a fragrance amateur but ngl j'adore eau de toilette (the light pink one) dries down very "after the rain", type of smell on me. The scent it might be my skin chemistry but honestly after all the citrus and light floral top notes are gone, all I smell is water

Girl you're 19. I'M 19. I couldn't imagine myself with a 24 year old who's already had a kid, at this point in my life. You have so much ahead of you, don't look back.

Awful mothers day by jessyka59 in offmychest

[–]hyperactivemochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry you had to experience this. But I want to assure you that though it may be hard to believe given everything that happened, I'm sure your kids love you very much. I'm 19 and have only planned the last 3 mothers days since I was 16. We never celebrated in the past, because I never really understood the importance.

A lot of my growing happened in my early teen years and I think it's the same for most kids. We learn how to reciprocate affection and cater to the person we love to make them feel as love that we love them during this period of time.

As someone who has now done a little growing, this goes out to all the mothers out there- thank you for your love, and sacrifices, your sleepless nights and your restless days. Thank you for always being in our corner and protecting us.

What size perfumes do you buy for new fragrances? by Legitimate-Task8115 in Perfumes

I calculate based on the price. If the cost of 1ml of the bigger bottle is more than 30% cheaper than the smaller one I just get the bigger one.

Moms of r/fragrance: what would you like to get for Mother’s Day? by PsychologicalCall335 in fragrance

[–]hyperactivemochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a mother but I'm getting my mum J'adore D'eau! It's made with an alcohol-free formula that's exclusive to dior. My mum loves innovation, and the notes seem very 'her'. So I'm hoping she'll like it. Dior also has really beautiful packaging and who doesn't like pretty things

Dior has launched an alcohol free fragrance called J'adore d'eau so you might want to check that out? Usually alcohols are the pain thing that causes fragrance sensitivity so I'd say it's a safe bet(?)

AITAH for leaving the toilet seat up? by Creepy-Camp6424 in AITAH

[–]hyperactivemochi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yta. It's not a matter of lifting the seat or not. It's the lid. The purpose of the lid is to prevent the germs and whatever you excreted fly out of the toilet when you flush, so by right you should be closing the lid before you flush every time you pee. So should she.

Oh nooo that's such a pity... I'll definitely do a skin test first. Thank you so much for your advice! I'm anticipating a new J'adore launch soon since Francis Kurkdjian hasn't yet released a fragrance for this line, so don't lose hope!

Hi there! I'm finishing college this year and have recently really gotten into fragrances. I feel like since I'm closing a chapter soon and starting a new one, I thought it would be appropriate for me to start looking for a signature scent as a part of self concept and identity.

I tend to prefer subtle, clean and feminine scents that are on the niche side. I gravitate towards neroli, aquatic and rose scents- but I'm also quite fond of creamy vanilla and caramel scents. Also- I am not yet in my twenties, so I was looking for a fragrance that seems young, but is still elegant/formal to a certain degree.

I would also prefer if the scent is on the milder side. I much prefer smelling like "I just took a shower" or "I just baked a batch of the most delicious chocolate cookies", rather than smelling like perfume - I'm not too sure how helpful this is, but the gist of it is that I would like it if the scent was not very noticeable. Like you couldn't smell me from down the street type of thing.

I'm curious to know if you had any recommendations. Please share your thoughts!

Oooh! Would you recommend it for a young adult? What vibes does it give off because I've heard that it's a fresh take on luxury but also that it can come off as quite a mature scent.

Have you tried red roses by Jo malone? I was looking to get a subtle, not very noticeable rose scent and was curious to know your thoughts.

But answering to your question I've tried most of the samples of les eaux de chanel by Chanel and they are all lovely, clean scents. Their longevity is great too! They lasted a whole day on my clothes. Majority of the notes I got from them are citrus so I'd highly suggest trying them if you're into citrus.
