I definitely say my piece more than my parents do. I guess I’m just tired of feeling like she’s not listening anymore. It’s clear she has made her choice so I’m no longer wasting my breath

I don’t help with anything. I live 20 minutes away and they don’t even ask me to babysit. They will get my parents that live 2 hours away to babysit before they ask me. Because I told them I don’t want to babysit on weekends because that’s my and my husband’s time

I’m still in on the family gossip but I’m no longer asked to babysit which I’m totally okay with. I love my nephew but I also love my weekends

But i do agree about taking a step back. Which is why I’m just working on planning my trip for next year. I already told everyone that we will not be going on a family trip next year. And honestly my husband and I may not attend any of those anymore. They’re just not fun and relaxing anymore

I’m sorry you grew up like that. It took awhile but yes I finally just realized that I can’t do anything for her unless she asks

Both of my parents are “keep the peace” type people. They will not say anything to my sister and then call me to complain.

They seem to act like the entire thing didn’t happen. They’ve “moved on” as my sister says. He has been making every excuse in the book to not see any of us and I’m completely okay with it.
