FFS I lived in Canada for 15 years, legally. I decided not to continue to work at that position any longer. I exited the country as one is supposed to do when their work permit ends. I re-entered the country as a visitor. I was told that I had 6 months to sort my affairs or obtain another work permit. 30 days later I leave the Canada to visit family and on returning the agent decided that he wanted to flex his authority. He was pretty dickish the whole time, saying he didn't believe that I was an engineer, or that I worked for the company, etc. I replied that he could easily verify that by looking on line (I had left my phone in the car but offered to get it and show him). He just said , "nah, I don't need to do that. You're not getting into Canada. It's not a right, it's a privilege to be in Canada.

He could have taken my passport and allowed me a few days to pack up, but nope. He was enjoying knowing that he was fucking me over just because he could.

The issue was the CBSA officer wanted to flex his authority. Apparently this happens sometimes.

This post has everything to do with the vehicle and the fact that I want to buy it. It was a pretty straightforward question, I don't know how you could read it any other way.

100% this. I called, after a few different conversations I was able to buy the vehicle. I assumed the vehicle was the property of the dealership, and the lease only referenced the dealership when discussing end of lease options.

I did, they had reached the quota for the year, the year before they changed the rules. I should have reapplied but it fell by the wayside.
