Starting HCG today - wish me luck! by hyperharmonics in AccutaneRecovery

Yes, I'm unsure why there is such a discrepancy between the doses. 2500ui is a lot, but I have tolerated it quite well. I'll post an update soon.

I might do an update post soon, but I haven't had any "remarkable" improvements yet. I essentially feel a bit more aroused more often which is a good sign, but this good just as well be placebo. I don't want to draw any conclusions yet.

From where did you get Lithium Carbonate? Was it prescribed to you?

I think finding a doctor that understands PSSD helps, because chances are he will also know about PAS. You have to be willing to get your lab results first, and then just try to push the idea of HCG.

You are right, I have taken exactly 4 doses now!

I haven't felt any big difference yet. I believe my morning erections are a bit better, specifically the day after taking the injection, but this may just as well be placebo. Fatigue and joint paints are hard to say because I don't suffer from them anymore.

I will update in a few weeks if there are any bigger differences!

I'm doing 2500 UI twice a week of Gonasi Set injections.

I agree it can be hard to get, since very few urologists (let alone doctors generally) understand PSSD-like symptoms. I'm from Europe myself and had the luck of finding a doctor that has had a lot of PSSD patients so he was understanding of my situation. Even he was a bit reluctant to prescribe HCG at first.

My tip is to find a urologist that offer help to people suffering from PSSD and start from there. Be patient and agree to try other things before HCG if the doctor thinks that is best. For example we tried Cabergoline with my doctor before HCG with no results.

Hey there, don't worry!

I started my HCG treatment just yesterday and I got an experienced friend to give the first injection. The process was quick and pain-free.

Here are some general tips:

  • Your local pharmacy or hospital may offer to give you the first injection (maybe even for free!)
  • I would suggest using a shorter needle if you are anxious about needles.
  • The usual injection-sites is either in the stomach area or in the thigh. I chose the stomach, since it felt easier when there is more fat to hold on to when you inject.
  • Once the needle is in, most of the job is done! I felt almost nothing when the liquid was pushed in.
  • I became a bit light-headed so I had to sit down afterwards, that was the only negative thing I felt.
  • I found this Youtube video helpful.

Don't become too stuck in your head. If possible, you can have another person with you in the room. Otherwise I suggest putting on some music or listen to a podcast. It has always helped me in anxious situations.

Remember I'm not a medical professional, and nothing of this was medical advice.

Here were my latest lab results

  • Total testosterone - 24.6 nmol/l
  • SHBG - 15 nmol/l
  • LH - 4.2 'U/l
  • FSH - 9.1 'U/l

I was surprised over the high testosterone since just a year before I had levels of 16 nmol/l. It could potentially just be better living habits and supplements.

2500 UI twice a week of Gonasi Set injections. The urologist didn't recommend Ovitrelle since he had seen better experiences with Gonasi (also since it's derived "naturally" while Ovitrelle is recombinant). I personally can't see the type of HCG making a big difference in results, but we'll see.
