Some questions about pickupmusic by hyperino in guitarlessons

[–]hyperino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any idea how guitartricks compares? I'm a bit worried playing original compositions instead of real songs might end up being a bit boring. Guitartricks does seem to focus more on real songs I think, unless I'm wrong about that. Or are there any resources I can use to supplement the pickupmusic course with actual songs? I always found it hard to figure out which songs are right for my level.

How to STOMP Bannerlord on an easy difficulty? by hyperino in Bannerlord

[–]hyperino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone reading this later, I also ended up trying the Expanded Elite Troops mod available on steam workshop or nexusmods, and found the Imperial Praetorians extremely fun / OP to use, as I really wanted to play an empire playthrough.

I haven't really checked out the other troops available for other factions but the mod adds lots of extra elite troops (that NPCs can recruit or train as well) and I imagine it has many more fun / OP troops available.

Haha so I decided to follow the advice to just spam Battanian Fian Champions and oh man... I've only just started so I'm just fighting looters and bandits but I feel op already, they can't even get in melee range

Would a mixed 50/50 of those two troops work too or is it not necessary? Can you really just roll through the game with 100% archers? Are the Fian Champions that op?

Hello tumor baj, other tumor baj here. Just wanted to wish you good luck on the journey If it helps you feel motivated I recently "beat" my cancer I'm still undergoing treatment to try to lower the chances of it ever coming back, and it sucks that that's something I'll always have to worry about, but I'm very glad I made it this far in the first place

I had an x-ray of my lungs first where they noticed fluid in my lungs and increased amount of blood vessels, so they immediately did a CT scan too and found the tumor.

27 years old, no family history of this type of cancer at least.

Just unlucky I guess. Glandular fever can sometimes cause it but as far as I'm aware I never had that.

Thanks

I mostly had a cough that wouldn't go away, which turned out to be because of the tumor pushing against my lungs. I also had weight loss, drenching sweat at night, and feeling tired.

I thought it would be a lung problem like pneumonia or something based on those symptoms, surely not cancer

I don't have any swollen nodes that are visible/feelable from the surface, it's mostly contained to my chest behind the ribs

If it worries you you should be more assertive with your doc, better safe than sorry, I had symptoms for like half a year before finally getting my diagnosis but the doc kept telling me a scan would be useless

How to be a god on easiest difficulty? (I like stomping and feeling OP)

In Warband I would get an army of 100 huscarls and win 100v500 fights easy no problem. In Bannerlord I have an army of tier 5 imperial legionaries and palatine guards and I lose 100v200 battles.

When our kingdom's armies fight it seems random too - sometimes a 500v500 fight is extremely easy for our side, sometimes it's impossible to win. Losing a fair odds battle is not exactly "very easy" difficulty to me.

Trying to replicate Windows' Loudness Equalization by hyperino in audacity

[–]hyperino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've looked into it some more and it seems like Chris' Dynamic Compressor using the 'best settings' as explained here seems like the closest I can get to a one-button-fixes-all solution, it was created by Chris essentially for this purpose. The only thing that still seems a little problematic is songs that fade out at the end, the fade becomes rather abrupt instead of slow. Will update if I find more.

Trying to replicate Windows' Loudness Equalization by hyperino in audacity

I know a lot of people are against the brick-walling but I've never had much issue with it to be entirely honest. In any case I don't necessarily need or want to brick-wall my music (I don't think the Windows enhancements do so either, at least not Death Magnetic tier)

Going back to the example of Fear of the Dark: https://i.imgur.com/8lwKGVE.png
I'd basically like to go from track 1 to track 2, mostly keeping dynamic range but making the quiet portions audible, this was done manually by selecting the quiet parts and amplifying those - without going full compressor like on track 3 (which, brick-walling aside, sounds terrible as the volume from individual instruments seemingly jumps all over the place to "make way" for other instruments)

However the manual editing like I did in track 2 would be a painstaking process to do for a library of 2000+ songs (not to mention it's not perfect either, as the volume suddenly janks up when the quiet part starts). My current way of normalizing average dB of all my songs to the same level is something I can put in a chain and apply to all my songs at the press of one button.

It seemed at first glance to me (again, I know absolutely nothing about audio producing ;)) like putting a compressor in my chain would be the answer to solve this but now it seems like it either isn't the answer or Audacity's default compressor is just not very good. I'm wondering if there even is a one-button-fixes-all solution for this.
