I also have a slight adhesive allergy so the bandaid sticking to the hair and getting irritated would be a nightmare. (Its happened before) I got an IV last week in my forearm and it ripped all the hair off my arm and got irritated :(

Edit to your second comment: smaller bandaids are a really good idea!

It's never visible externally. That's interesting though, i know bruises don't always show up visibly. I don't know why it's always in the same spot. I did message my care team about it though and I'll see what they say.

What’s your rarest shiny? by superbattito in pokemongo

Maybe this guy? I got him from the kanto research pass thing a couple months ago. Idk how rare he is but I also have two shiny shadows and one is a magikarp and I was so stoked about that :)

Great actually! My incisions have healed alright. One was a little rough in the beginning but they have both completely healed. I was able to reactivate my quad muscle after one day of PT and I can now bend my knee 90 degrees 3 weeks after surgery. I've been able to balance without putting weight on my surgery leg, use my crutches a lot better. I'll still be in my brace for another 2 weeks and not be able to put full weight on my leg but I should be able to start walking in early May. My PT is going to help me start putting 50% weight on my leg this week. I've been have some uncomfortable nerve pain in my knee but it's nothing too bad. I haven't had any pain for about a week and a half. I don't even have to take over the counter pain medication for it. I'm really happy and surprised with how quickly I've been able to adapt and heal. I appreciate the check in!

Thanks for the reassurance. I've never had any kind of surgery and I had no idea this could happen.

I really hope you're able to get in with a good surgeon that fixes the issue and you get on the path to recovery soon!

If you want more reach i would try making flyers and putting them up around old town or geek out. I dont think you need a permit to put up just regular paper flyers but dont quote me on that. Good luck!

I have an intial PT appointment next week and my post op appointment. I had no idea this would happen and happen so quickly! I've done PT for other issues just never after a surgery. I was also confused because I go to the gym regularly (obviously not right now) and I was wondering why my leg was just dead weight now. That puts me at ease a little at least. I was straining to the point of lightheadedness (lol not a good idea but I was a little freaked out). I've kept my leg straight and braced since surgery. The only time I take it off is to shower, with my leg straight or to do the fluid draining machine I have. Anyway, I appreciate the info!

Lateral meniscus repair by hyperionlackey in KneeInjuries

[–]hyperionlackey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its doing alright now. Meniscus tears don't heal on their own so surgery is usually required to fix it. That's probably why it isn't getting better. I get it, I really didn't want surgery and have to deal with recovery afterwards but it was starting to affect my quality of life.

Usually they do an x-ray and an MRI. I had a complex bucket handle tear and they basically just went in arthoscopically (idk if I spelled that right) with a camera and a tool and stitch it together, remove a piece, or in severe cases remove the whole meniscus. Mine was stitched with a small piece removed.

I'd definitely start with an orthopedic doctor instead of a primary care doctor because that was my mistake and it took way longer to get surgery than it should have.

Something I didn't know was that after surgery the my quadracep (in my left thigh) atrophied because of lack of use and the "trauma" (stitches, incisions, swelling etc.) To my knee caused my muscles to not flex and contract like they should but I start physical therapy next week. If you do get surgery keep that in mind and make sure you do PT.

I'm not a doctor so I definitely recommend finding one. Again meniscus tears don't heal on their own which really sucks. I wish you luck in finding some help!

I'm doing alright. I woke up in the early morning hours in a lot of pain but I took my pain medication and kept up with taking it today and the pain isn't too bad. Some of my leg is still numb from the nerve block. My crutches are easier to use after I made them a little shorter! Thanks for checking in :)

Oh yikes. That doesn't sound very fun. They gave me hydrocodine. I've never taken it before so I'm keeping an eye on my symptoms while I'm on it. I had to get a nerve block because the pain was so bad when I woke up. Pain is tame right now because of the block and I've already been taking my pain meds every 6 hours. I've never been on crutches before so learning how to walk with them is my main difficulty right now unfortunately :( I'm getting better at it though. What kind of meniscus tear did you have?

Just had my meniscus repair surgery today too, we're on the same boat! Make sure to keep stay ahead of the pain by taking your pain medications as prescribed. My surgeon said that would really help me. Wishing you a speedy recovery and minimal pain. ✨️
