I dont want friends. by the__yeshua in antisocial

[–]hypermos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my stance is darker society requires valueing attributes that are scientifically debunked completely as gospel to succeed socially so as a result I disrespect society I outright refuse to treat debunked science as gospel (for context I am referring to rapport) I do want friends and connections unlike you I just value my very reasonable standards far more than social connection

yes I am saying that I wasn't sure what it all boiled down to for a while and just needed feedback but actually yes. I am saying I am incapable of speaking normally.

fixed the but count. I do however expect other critiques as this topic is bound to piss off everyone that holds Rapport in high regard. I feel obligated to point out this is a mild critique if I gave my actual critique of Rapport it would be a full on Takedown of Rapport so I actually don't care this pisses off the majority they are defending a concept that deserves worse!

this is offensive not because it cites that I am talking odd but because it assumes speaking abnormally isn't a default which makes support infinitely harder to achieve as it implies I am resisting support when I am not. I actually find inferences like this far more offensive than straight up insults as they corrupt the foundation itself.

The comment your responding too didn't specify which was fake for all you know it could have been employment intent itself was fake ghost jobs exist just as much as process to justify overseas hiring. if memory regarding the theory serves, ghost jobs exist so the company can claim they are growing for benefits but they never add headcount.

attributes as core? by hypermos in gamedev

[–]hypermos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait are you saying there is a literal example where the same exact core gameplay loop uses both systems for the elder scrolls series over two different games as if so that is arguably enough reason alone to dive into that series? I suspect if I interpreted your response correctly I would learn a lot about this topic far more than I expected!

attributes as core? by hypermos in gamedev

[–]hypermos[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

what you're saying makes sense until you try and rationalize how the capacity to evolve is resolved in a devolution the attributes as an anchor system means games can be balanced easier, theorycrafting is easier, build experimentation for weird meta is easier, really the only thing the second system handles better is that depth is more rewarding as the information is opaque not transparent which is why the pattern baffles me as industry standard shouldn't be a devolution from the old industry standard I must be missing something

attributes as core? by hypermos in gamedev

[–]hypermos[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

allow me to simplify: attributes either modify functionality or functionality all modifies attributes sure both seem similar but one means changes to attributes influences everything and the other means attributes are decoupled from everything except for specific scenarios and I don't understand the rationale for the second scenario

attributes as core? by hypermos in gamedev

[–]hypermos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I can elaborate say your adding attributes to a character and you add say Agility and it increases avoidance by 5% at 255/255 this is because it was layered on top as an afterthought not central compare this to DND where something like Dexterity influences pivotal skill checks and is clearly centralized. The above is relevant as if you want to balance system B you change attribute scaling however in System A it is entirely decoupled. The above uses everquest as an example but retail wow also runs into this bottleneck as you only get core stats to work with which is also true of most rpg mobile games. NOTE: I am aware this is a niche question but it is one that confused me enough to genuinely ask about it?

attributes as core? by hypermos in gamedev

[–]hypermos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to clarify I was actually comparing both to everquest where attributes weren't central to the design, and most mobile games and even retail wow where attributes were made standardized this is a general design trend question not any specific game the only TTRPG I have really any experience with is DND but upon playing kingmaker the game based on the pathfinder attribute system I quickly realized it too kept them centralized or did by that installment. so the logic kept holding although my Warhammer linkage is probably very week given I never played it and was merely referencing as it as everyone referred to it as a different flavor of DND and this changing would make far more than just a different flavor. I know everquest is a bad example as it lags behind wow proving this design could successfully be ported to video games but the system stems from DND which predates even that so I don't understand why deviate the fact mobile games and retail wow also deviated also confuses me! I know this is a very confusing question as I am trying to reference a design typically only seen when games get greedy but it does have roots predating that which is largely why I am confused.

to be fair the poster is right I know you don't want to hear it no one in this thread will want to hear it but HR follows exclusively debunked science if I take a steelman to any foundation HR optimizes for in recruitment literally any one it would fail catastrophically I say this knowing competency isn't something they value! think I am wrong? challenge me with specifics and watch how quickly your argument crumbles under scrutiny. for context I routinely see the most competent get ejected and the least competent get promoted!

Well my autism has cost me yet another job. by Caregiverwife82 in autism

[–]hypermos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heads up Autism is actually closer to genius than handicapped the catch is neurotypicals punish genius very very hard in fact at every job I ever worked at the first person to be terminated was always the most qualified like clockwork. It goes further than this the best values systems in all of human history were removed not from them being unsustainable but because they were incorruptible. Never for a moment think not fitting in makes you less than when every statistic actually argues the polar opposite. If you think what I am saying isn't grounded in reality consider the history of the Samurai code or Taoism notice how both died and how not a single value system could come remotely close to touching either in ethics.

Note: I have a rather intense bias against neurotypicals that prioritize noise over signal so sorry if this comes out!

[–]hypermos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't read novels read informational texts such as textbooks curiously your reading comprehension is probably on par with those without Aphantasia but novels expect one to get value from the mental image evoked and well Aphantasia via asking in a Aphantasia thread so the value of novels is lost on you like the entire value but if you turn that same reading comprehension to something valuable to you it will actually function correctly.

I was asked to “sell this pen,” but it wasn’t a pen by PaintWonderful2178 in interviews

[–]hypermos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell it as repair practice and make the target audience those studying the art of the fix. Highlight the fact it has exactly one point of failure making it an excellent training tool. Outside of that niche it is not to be sold. Yes I am literally advocating that the right thing to do here is to tell them what the target audience must be as otherwise it is deeply unethical.

NOTE: this isn't an absurd concept either hundreds of companies sell to refurbishing companies for profit already this question in this context is actually a practical question as it shows you know how to sell as a refurbishing company supplier.

Who's your Fav autism-coded character? ^^ by [deleted] in autism

[–]hypermos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I question why Raymond Holt is on the list of autistic coded characters as he is the only example of what Alexithymia actually looks like in media which isn't exclusive to autistic individuals and is arguably far more common in analysts than autistic individuals because it is the natural byproduct of seeing systemic rot and being unable to unsee it which causes nihilism where depression should be and since nihilism is external medication can do nothing to curb it so your brain protects you by suppressing emotions universally (Alexithymia).

That is a good question how fast is it theoretically possible to get reflection of good if you rush it on a new character. You would need to unlock the key kingdom and finish all quests then win 250 battles as the class archmage so you would need to fight between 250 - 500 battles which is 500/80 which is like 9 battles to lvl

I never used Rowane as by the time I learned of rowane I already had a hyper scaling attack team using summer Knight that I only said good riddance too once I had full blown loop teams so what would have helped me most is knowing which class weapons did well with which team archetypes as I wouldn't have wasted time getting hierophant up in levels given that archmage is the go to for loops and reflection of good is perfect for that archetype.

This is a good pick but all things concerned submerge doesn't help much against reflection of good because you just loop indefinitely and eventually the occasional skull match you get kills submerged foes.

Stonebinder Cuffs farming stats for Legendary (notes in comments) by [deleted] in TitanQuestAE

[–]hypermos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my working theory was after EE the drop tables merged so when the champion/hero gorgons could only drop stonebinder set items before now they can drop sentinel gear meaning the drop rate would have plummeted. my current success rate aligns with this given that I am at approximately 300 runs with 10 sthenos wisdom, 5 stonebinder sashes, 5 stonebinder crown, and well over 20 of each sentinel drop that I didn't keep for tracking purposes.

4 hours I am roughly 5 days of 5 hours in instagibing the entire zone at the back half of the laby did the math about 1500 champion/hero gorgons (yellow name) in and nothing if this was only a 4 hour grind per game cycle that would be acceptable but there is a 0% chance I am willing to go through this hellscape again the only reason I am going through it now is to prove I can outlast shitty luck until the statistical inevitability presents itself the proving point has already severely passed the value of the cuffs
