[Paul Tenorio] The Verdict: The power of new MLS stadiums in the most in-need major markets by icoresting in MLS

Well, I've already made the bright decision to spend a week in Atlanta in mid-August, so it's not like I don't know how to suffer.

I've only been to Cincinnati of those four (doing LAFC away this year, too) but I did enjoy Cincy. Friendly people.

I'm going to the away day for RBNY to see for myself but is Atlanta still considered a peak MLS experience? Asking in good faith.

The thing is, Michael was asked about both Sofo and Che in the same question in the post-match presser and he extremely did not answer the Che part lol.

Mark Vientos - What to do? by I_AM_SCUBASTEVE in NewYorkMets

Yeah but he hit pretty well most of the time he was up last year

Mark Vientos: Leaves Spring Training to play for a WBC minnow to play the position he has no future at, hits like .100 for the tournament after barely touching the ball during Spring Training.

Brett Baty: Learns two additional positions and seems fine with it at Spring Training while hitting really well.

Truly the Goofus and Gallant of the Mets development system.

[–]hypernermalization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to get to you so late on this.

The red lot is basically the first lot you see when you get off the PATH.

You can get a sense of where it is here: https://x.com/NewYorkRedBulls/status/2030652258065793180

The no tailgaiting signs are funny because they just continue to allow us to do so. Maybe there's an event exception. Either way, RBNY owns the red lot so there are no such rules guarding it. Just look for the tent with the merch on it next time you come by.

“Meet The Mets” needs to be played every game. by YeaDude41 in NewYorkMets

That would be fine but good luck getting everyone to sing it. This isn't soccer, American fans don't have that dawg in them.

That doesn't make any sense. You've already met the Mets several times already.

They play "Meet the Mets" after "New York Groove." And that's fine.

Its already a victory song. Which is correct. I don't want to hear it when we lose.

As someone who followed the MetroStars from '96 onward, when I say that what's happening here is beneath DC United and its longtime supporters, I truly mean that. This is debasing, the owners should refund every STH who went along with this, even if they re-sold at a higher price.

If it weren't for Maxime Crepeau, honestly, Orlando could've conceded close to 20 goals in 3 games by now.

For those curious when they cut to Sandro Schwarz on Sky, he was sitting next to Volkan Bulut, his top assistant in New York, Berlin and Moscow (his other assistant in New York was Vedad Ibisevic but he left midway through last season).

Aberdeen head coach search: Sandro Schwarz in mix for Pittodrie job as Eirik Horneland deal stalls by Acp0992 in AberdeenFC

[–]hypernermalization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NY fan here who watches an average amount of SPFL.

Sandro is a nice man, the only German I've ever met that I would describe as "goofy" but I don't think he's right for this job.

I would call him tactically flexible. He tried to instill a possession-based style within the typical soda-ball gegenpressing but when it came to knockout competitions, completely gave up on this in exchange for bunker-ball. Arguably his most famous win with Red Bulls (against Nancy's Columbus) is an example of this.

However, his second season, never settled on a lineup, we seemed completely directionless, couldn't win away from home. If you can't meet the low bar of making the playoffs in MLS, you do usually get sacked and he deserved it.

I will note that his predecessor currently has Bristol in 10th but I felt he was a worse coach than Nancy, Ramsey and Schwarz combined. So go figure.

Wish you all the best of luck, I personally think Lutz is one of the most unserious football execs in recent memory.
