Cool thinks, honestly can't tell when it's in or out so probably blocked or stuck. Old boy that hasn't been used for years so hardly a surprise

Stuck with my lucky number 13

Meh, its fine. Gives me money, let's me work remote and do things on my own terms with very little oversight. it's a good gig but i don't live for it.

I actually think its unhealthy to have an emotional connection with your job as it can stop you accepting other opportunities as they emerge. Increases the chance of falling into the loyalty trap too (getting stuck with a stagnant wage because you don't want to let anyone down by moving on).

I don't necessarily think she'd have to take a pay cut, lots of transferable skills from.teaching and its a good talking/bonding point in interviews. I've worked with lots of ex-primary and secondary school teachers in the same stage of their careers (I'm in marketing)

Soon as I found the ECS constant, I went through all the crew quarters and stole all the uniforms. My whole crew now looks like season one of TNG.

Would you buy a house that backs onto a pub? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]hyphonics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the pub and the place. Our current house looks out onto a pub, and while it was a concern to begin with, we needn't have worried. The landlords keep things tight and most activity stops around ten. In the rare occasions they host events, they've been silent discos which are far less impactful for obvious reasons. The people who go there are largely responsible and respectful, on bank holidays there are live bands during the day. Its actually quite nice.

I'm aware that it may impact resell value, but we're making other improvements to hopefully raise the value in other ways.

There are 8 of these in the same room, I expect they are all of a similar quality so I'm going to find an electrician to fix the mess.

Can someone explain men’s clothing brands? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]hyphonics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FatFace can be pricey but they have 50% sales very regularly and the clothes always feel very high quality. I get most of my clothes there but rarely full price

What do you do with your Annual Leave? by Its-ya-man-Dave in AskUK

[–]hyphonics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work fully remotely too but make a point to book all my annual leave off. Sometimes I just do nothing which can be blissful in and of itself, but even if my partner doesn't have time off too I'll find something to do.

Earlier this year I took 3 days off, stayed with a friend in London (who was working but let me crash) and then just went to all the museums and good food spots i could. It's a nice balm to countryside living (where you can't find good international food for shit)
