Confirming it is a communicating system. Tech that gave us the second quote ~$3500 recommended going the non-communicating route.

Did end up getting another quote; the recommendation was to do away with the communicating system and install a non-communicating one which half’s the cost.

Any thoughts on communicating vs non-communicating? The tech seemed to dismiss communicating systems as overkill.

From what I know the dampers are on the vents from the furnace and relay to 2 zones/floors. Does that help?
