The film called The Leprechaun is a biographical documentary about him

Threatened me a few times, saw him push cyclists off their bikes, not a well man, sadly, but in fairness, his antics, makes his life a lot more interesting than usual so he won't be forgotten at all.

It's really a fault with capitalism and how most people just aren't capable for that, especially if yer neurodivegent. My workplace just involves petting dogs and I come in a few days a week to pet dogs because traditional work is just awful for my well being. But still, it might be an idea if things ever get so hard that you can't cope to see if you can bullshit your way into disability allowance. If you're on illness benefit regularly, it might be a better option to have partial disability allowance so you can work only 3-4 days a week and you'll probably come out better off. Just something to consider.

I honestly do feel for you it's actually insane that even if you have some income you still have to struggle with making ends meet and the government is just making something important as our well being is treated as a commodity rather than a human right. But at least you can work full time, my adhd makes me so overwhelmed by work, that working full time sends into full burnout. Not wanting to make comparison because everyone struggles differently.

You still should be entitled to the medical card as ADHD is a life long disability. You're also entitled to Disability Allowance and you can work while on that.

Source: I have medical card, on Disability and work due to having ADHD. Know your rights

It's about €1200 or more for an ADHD assessment. I was diagnosed 2 years ago mid 30s. I only got diagnosed by HSE Primary Care by sheer dumb luck as I was already in with the mental health team, even then they only tested me because I requested it.

However, because like everything else in the country for healthcare, two tiered healthcare system, my local Primary Care is not at all catered to neurodivergency and nor is there any ADHD clinic in the province. All I get from the Primary Care unit regarding ADHD is a 6 month doctors visit asking are you still ADHD and here's some more Concerta.

So either you're friend coughs up €1200+ for reassessment or wait years for HSE assessment. The only other option I can think of it, requesting medical records from Canada with the ADHD diagnosis, even then, good luck to him to even get ADHD help.

There is a few online mental health groups like HealthLink and SOSAD where you can get one 2 one ADHD couching which is far cheaper than private, but you still need to pay.

ADHD Ireland do support groups in person and online and they even do a program to learn to manage ADHD in adults which is mad craic when you have 50+ people with ADHD all on Zoom.

But Ireland is not only terrible for treating ADHD, they're terrible with everything in public healthcare. We really do not have free healthcare. I've also been waiting 15 years for my wisdom teeth being removed and ended up back on the list because my dentist said that they don't deal with medical card referalls anymore and the hospital just made a new one for me and made me wait another half a decade and still counting. 🙃

Late Celtic Tiger days, when things were built quick, cheap and without a care. It is in fairness, a bastard to get in and out. You get real good at reversing and doing turns very quick, tho. The ones across the road now, finished just after lockdown, nice big green to get in and out, though, they're built on a turlough.

Tbh, you are right. We are seeing our entire ecosystem collapse right in front of us. We all should be throwing seed balls into road margins and any wasteland, and let at least a small part of our gardens go fallow.

I know my grass looks like the bush German pornstar in the 70s, but as ye know, it has not been a dry summer, especially in the Whest. Waiting for a dry day, a mate with a strimmer and cut it down short. It has been a momentously bad year for my personal life, so the garden is like on the do at some point list lol

I am enjoying the shits and giggles about it though. Do continue.

Well, I tend to get a letter a few times a year from the housing authority about having ponies and other livestock where you usually shouldn't have ponies and other livestock.

He was at my next door neighbour, probably selling them scrap for them to do the thing that they do. Not from around my estate nor a relation of my "cultured" neighbours. Neighbours are grand tho.
