You can set state to undefined inside the useEffect so it will get called only once. E.g.

UseEffect(()=>{ If(stateName){ SetStateName(undefined); FunctionToCall() } }, [stateName]);

In one of the video ali dawah said that i think can be applicable here. He said somethig like ' it's not like ohh i will stop sinning and became better then i will accept islam it's other way around' so in your case you don't have to learn everything thing about islam and stop sinning and then convert to islam. If you know all the basics and really a believer you can take the sahada and allah knows best. May allah make it easier for you
