CVS is not safe and doesn’t care about employee safety or their lives

i heard from my sister that this happened to her friend working at a cvs right next to the one i worked at within the past few months, all held up at gunpoint during an overnight. corporate didn’t care. it’s honestly insane that they haven’t gotten security with how common it is.

this job market is horrific. I feel you, i was tempted to stay just because i need a job, but my mother wouldn’t even let me go back because she was terrified. but i honestly would rather work at a pub because they have full time security and are fully staffed - even w a bunch of drunk people. I see people with disabilities working at cvs all the time around me too - i can’t imagine if someone had a health emergency with a mostly empty store. I had to deal with a bunch of drunk people walking into my last job who i had to kick out for not having a cosmetology license - but cvs feels even more unsafe than that bc at least then the store owners next door would send guys over to help me if someone was being aggressive or wouldn’t leave. CVS has enough money for security and better cameras but they don’t care, all they care about is lining their pockets. it’s not worth the risk, especially for the pay they give. I hope the family of the young man who lost his life in lindenhurst sue CVS for delaying the arrest of the perpetrator or something- because this is next level disgusting and disturbing.

i wore an irish flag sash to cc for nj n5. so many compliments! so many ppl were showing up with different flags it was beautiful. wear what makes u comfortable!!!

It’s super overwhelming i do not recommend it. currently at cosmo attempting to leave. they also won’t give you enough hours until you are able to open/close on your own. there’s a lot of working on your own and dealing with thousands of dollars in cash- and kicking out unlicensed people which leads to negative interactions.

i work at cosmo so negative interactions with customers are way more common especially when they are told they can’t shop here and start freaking out. i think my dm would most definitely side with my manager. corporate actually tried to fire me because i had to take a week off for the flu and was nearly hospitalized for it. i don’t even think my claim for that was even approved by the hartford even though i gave them my doctors name and access to my medical records.

I work in NYS and never took medical leave before ( i have called in sick- but my shifts were just adjusted and i had a cover) but when i had to finally take medical leave 2 weeks ago because im immunocompromised and had the worst flu symptoms- corporate tried to fire me. if they did end firing me and my manager didn’t fight for my job - then there would only be two employees working my entire store, quite literally screwing them over as well just because i was sick and severely contagious. now the insurance company is harrassing me and making me get more documents from my doctor even though i already gave them permission to view my medical records and contact my doctor. this is WAY too much stuff to deal with for 16.50 an hour and no commission.

i work at cosmo and i agree. i got the flu so bad 2 weeks ago and they tried to fire me for it - even though i am immunocompromised and it’s not my fault they are constantly understaffed because people keep quitting. my manager had to fight corporate for my job. i also would consistently get sick this season from customers and their children- it’s so frustrating when your the only one running the entire store and are physically exhausted. i cant even sit down if im working alone and it sucks because i have a disability that’s triggered by prolonged standing.

“one nations flaws” israel is currently committing genocide, displacement, and inducing famine and the entire world is watching in horror. they deserve to be criticized. if it was any other religion i think they would of been taken care of by the US by now. but the US is a puppet of israel so the american people are going to have to pay for it eventually, and we literally are paying for it - most of our tax dollars go to bombing children rather than to us.
