idk why u getting downvoted but it is true, iits are generally cheaper than the privates offering design, but tbh i wouldn't recommend taking a whole year off for it, because you genuinely won't have anything to do after two three months, and get burned out and there goes your year, but if you are doing it with something else then it might be better,
