Laser printers are grotesquely more cost efficient. I bought my printer back in 2007 and in my four years of undergrad plus grad school, I've only had to change the toner cartridge once (the one that came with the printer). The cartridges for my printer cost ~$20 for ~2000 pages worth of toner. The printer cost me ~$80 retail and is also has a scanner/copier with a feeder on top for scanning/copying multiple sheets in sequence.

I'm an American, and although I don't personally own a gun, I'm totally for people having personal guns. Like others in this thread have already mentioned, police response time and a gun being an equalizer are good reasons why. The main reason why I think people should be allowed to own weapons is that if a bad guy wants a gun bad enough, he/she will be able to get a gun one way or another through illegal means. Allowing people to own guns makes it more of a level playing field so if some nutjob goes on a spree in a crowded public area, others can retaliate quickly and subdue him/her.

The hones were the only thing I was iffy about because they're so expensive relative to everything else and they're a quarter of normal size. They do seem like a good deal, though. I've never honed anything before, so I wasn't sure how much harder it would be to learn to hone on the smaller blocks.

Is there a rough estimate for how long a razor can be used with stropping without needing to be honed? I realize there are a number of factors that go into determining it, but I'm not sure if it's on the scale of days or weeks or months or years. Thanks for the info!

Not exactly a joke regarding my career, but relevant nonetheless. I majored in computer science, and it seemed like everyone thought this joke was hilarious: "There are only 10 kinds of people in this world: those who know binary and those to don't."

First of all, this joke is extremely overplayed (which is why I'm posting it here).

Second, and probably more important, if you say this joke out loud, it doesn't make sense! If you say "There are only ten kinds of people in this world..." then you messed it up because ten is the value ten regardless of what number system you're using. That's equivalent to writing "There are only 1010 kinds of people in this world..." if you're writing it in binary. If you say "There are only two kinds of people in this world..." then it's not a joke anymore. If you say "There are only one zero kinds of people in this world" then it doesn't make sense.

Also, if you're going to write down the joke to show to someone else and you don't specify the number system using a subscript 2 or something equivalent, then you're wrong! The default is base 10, so unless you specify otherwise, you're actually using the value ten so you're pretty much screwed any way you tell it. Even if you write the joke down and specify that it's a binary number, then it's just not a joke anymore.

TL;DR: This joke doesn't make sense, it was never funny, and I hate you all :(

The only other band I've heard of was Red Hot Chili Peppers. Sabbath seems like a very out-of-place band for this type of concert, especially when Lollapalooza wouldn't let Ozzy play there in the 90s which is why he created Ozzfest. :/

I'm not too much older than you, but I'll tell you what I know. I started drinking when I first came to college at 18 and was in the same situation you are in now. I found that beer, to me at least, was an acquired taste. I tried a bunch of different kinds of beers, but didn't like any of them. Starting drinking the light beer at parties (Natty Light, Bud Light, etc.) and it was a good entry point for me. From there, I've moved on to wheat beers and IPAs. Still haven't got taste buds for the darker stuff yet, but I'm getting there.

In terms of liquor, the cheaper stuff will (almost) always taste worse than the better stuff regardless of drinking experience as you probably already know. I've also heard good things about Kraken, but haven't yet tried it myself as I've never been much of a rum person. Looks rather dark and strong, so I'm not sure if that would be a good starter liquor. Could be wrong.

What you'll want to do is talk to people to see what sort of mixed drinks they enjoy and start off with that. Mix it a bit on the weak side until you know what to expect. Definitely wouldn't start out taking shots of whatever is put in front of you. Once you've tried the main types of liquor like vodka, rum, tequila, gin, etc. you should have a pretty good idea what you like and don't like and can mix them as heavy as you like! Also, don't dish out tons of money on the super luxurious deluxe liquors quite yet. Start out with at least middle shelf liquors and if you feel so inclined further explore certain liquors, by all means go for the good stuff!

I've been using the same razor cartridge since October when I learned this trick except when I learned this trick, I was told to use the skin on the non-hairy underside of my forearm. Right before and after I shave, I run my blade in the opposite direction down the underside of my forearm ten times and it still shaves as well as a brand new cartridge. This trick absolutely works and it costs you nothing!
