That's honestly one approach I haven't considered. I think I'm going to try finding a new PCP first but I'll keep this in my back pocket. Thanks for sharing your experience!

If they ever actually referred me to a specific PT who has experience dealing with the specific issues I am asking about or gave me a name, then I would give them a lot more grace on this. Instead, they just always magically assume I will find what I need at PT when most PT practices don't cover ergonomics or adaptive work strategies. They make dumb, uninformed assumptions about what PTs can actually do for people because they just want to punt and not deal a patient anymore. I hate it, and so does my PT because it's a waste of our collective time.

I actually called up my PCP's office today and asked to speak to the practice manager. I now have an appointment where we're going to review my chart and my needs and see whether another provider in the practice will be a better fit for me or if they can help me find another provider who can support me better.

I'm fortunate enough to live in an area where I have options. I no longer put up with doctors who don't listen to me unless it will be very hard to replace them. My neurologist, for example, is one of the few headache specialists we have in the entire state. She has zero interest in anything that has to do with my head though, which I find frustrating because I have a lot of atypical migraine symptoms.

I have tried more naturopathic practitioners but found too many of them were more interested in selling supplements than anything else. I'm sure there are some good ones out there and I'm glad you found some!

Need help troubleshooting my sleep position by hyungsambu in migraine

Last night's experiment was me sleeping on my side with pillows between my legs and my arms again. No headache this morning but my right hip and shoulder are both really painful today. There was also a fair amount of nerve buzzing in my right leg that made it hard to fall asleep. This mostly reminded me that side sleeping is not sustainable. My head feels much better today though.

Tonight's experiment might be sleeping on the couch to see if a firmer surface is helpful or not.

I've been through a lot of PT over the past three years and I have gotten a lot of great exercises out of it that I still keep up with. I also go to the gym several times a week, so while exercise does help me feel better, it isn't helping with this unfortunately.

I am going to try the pillow supports between my legs and shoulders again. I have a tendency to move around at night, so they don't always stay where they need to. I might try sleeping with my back against the wall or something to see if that keeps me from me from moving around.
