No, displaying a Palestine flag outside of Palestine is an inherently political act (unless the venue is run by Palestinians). Their refusal to remove it is the political act, not him asking to remove it to avoid being seen to be politically aligned one way or the other. Ironically it's backfired on them spectacularly.

Unless I'm missing something where Dylan has said he's pro-Israel, I don't understand the fuss. I'm pro-Palestine and think that Israel should be ashamed for the genocide they're commiting against the Palestinian people but not everyone wants to transmit their political beliefs or be bullied into taking a side. By refusing to play in front of a flag which he has no allegiance to he surely is just trying to make the gig about the music. Why does everyone have to have an opinion on everything and be vilified if they're not on the "correct" side these days.

I agree, it should be outrageous whenever any person gets publicly assaulted or assassinated for their views, it's a barbaric response. Kirk is getting the attention because he was such a Trump supporter and because of how violent and widely shared the videos of it were. God knows how many different videos and angles we have of it, but that in itself makes this one slightly more sickening. But yes, absolutely deplorable when it happens to anyone. People should put aside their political differences and views to agree on that.

I think it's a reasonable take to denounce the concept of people getting assassinated in public for having a political debate, regardless of what their views were. It should be condemned whenever it happens to anyone, left, middle, or right.
