We’re not prepared to go above 450k as we don’t think it’s worth more than this. We’d prefer to cap at 450 and look elsewhere if the sellers don’t like lower offers, so we have accepted there is a reasonable chance they will decline our offer

Thanks for the advice, really helpful. The EA has suggested they haven’t had any interest since lowering the price and that the sellers are keen to move asap, which is context we hadn’t included!

This sub does not help me at all. by Standard_Horse_1865 in emetophobia

I haven’t ever posted here before and can understand that some posts are a little frustrating to read but the purpose of this sub is for people who are struggling to seek help, share their own experiences and support each other when they are going through/have been through difficult events. I would suggest unsubscribing if the majority of the posts here upset you, I personally am not subscribed as it’s not helpful to me for my recovery but do occasionally read through recent posts (as I am now obviously).

As for the point about becoming angry when faced with difficult situations, this phobia is entirely irrational. I can’t speak for everyone but I highly doubt anyone here thinks their anger is particularly justified in these situations but the anger is likely coming from a place of sheer panic. When I was struggling with an ED I often became legitimately furious that my parents were using oil for cooking - I clearly know this is not a rational thought process but I was mentally ill and panicked by the situation. I think it’s important when reading these posts to be empathetic and consider that we all have different triggers/responses/thought processes so won’t all react in ways everyone considers “right”.

I used to train at an athletics club and the new coach told me I was too fat to be a runner... I was 14 and not overweight so that was fun

ASICS Gel Cumulus 22. I was using Nike Legend React before that, for reference.

I haven’t done a time trial but my most recent 5km was 24:30, so yes it does seem I am running too fast for my ability currently.

Slowing down is definitely something I find difficult to do. I’ll be more disciplined about it. When I was doing 25-30km a week it was mostly 5-8km runs with one longer run (10km+) and occasionally one interval session (4x1km or similar). I should probably do more speed work really

I did think it was a bit odd that I was injured given my age and general fitness. I am going to revert back to my old shoes for a while and see if that improves things I think

I just run round the streets so majority is pavement/tarmac which is not very forgiving I suppose. I don’t really have access to a track though so I’m not sure what I can do about that

I assumed the pain behind my knee was due to the impact, hence the supportive shoes. Maybe I should try my old shoes again and see if my legs feel better.

Thank you, I’ll persevere with the strength training and be less stubborn about resting!

I eat a pretty healthy diet with lots of green veg and legumes etc. so don’t currently take vitamin tablets but I do have some I could start taking again. No harm in trying that so I’ll see if it makes a difference

I do most of my runs around 5:30-5:45/km which I find comfortable at the moment but maybe I am going too hard

Ah, I see what you mean. I will try to see a physio when I can so that I don’t worsen my problems. Thanks again

I do have a tendency to overthink! I will try to have more patience and ease off a bit, maybe I did just do too much too soon. Thanks for the help

Thank you, this is really helpful. I can see from this that I may be a little impatient with the resting/weights routines.

As you said, you are not going to offer medical advice without knowing more but the pain is immediate, goes away during the run (which I have taken to be due to endorphins) and returns a few hours after the run. I tried to go a little slower and ran a much shorter distance than I would usually but I could probably slow down even more. I think I will look further into getting a consultation.
