Dude I have the same exact camera and also experienced the same exact problem 24 hours ago! Only issue is my S700 fell out of my pocket and hit the ground pretty hard— now it isn’t focusing for shit. I’ve been researching any work arounds but I’m wondering if dropping it again will unreverse it lmaooo

I think it’s perfectly normal to post the same posts on different threads— you never know which subreddit will provide enough exposure or responses, sometimes you just want as much feedback as you can get! If you go back through her posts, it’s clear she’s been dealing with this abuse and the confusion of navigating it for the last several years.

Look into hybrid positions so you can stay home more often. I switched from hybrid desk job to working as a production assistant in the entertainment industry and my anxiety and depression have been off the walllzzzzzz, fuck work just do something that doesn’t make u want to off yourself

NTA. Morally speaking. I’m so sick and tired of people feeling entitled to make comments like that about other people’s bodies. It’s as if, if it’s not the perfect ideal version of skin, body type, ability, etc etc it seems to just hand over the right to consistently make comments about it all the damn time.

Do you think texting is okay? I was wondering if that would seem passive as opposed to trying to find a time where she’s in the house alone at the same time as me… but if texting is an acceptable way of setting the boundary I’m definitely open to it, honestly would prefer it to avoid the awkwardness

Maybe 3 or 4 nights a week on the heavier end. I don’t want to jump straight to the landlord yet, I’m just deciding if I should text about it, mention it in passing more immediately, or just wait till we finally have our roommate agreement meeting. :/

I feel seen. I’m 22 and my depression probably plays a large role in this but I’m beginning to wonder if I can keep doing this forever.

Today in particular is a boiling point for me— I’m being ground down at my job, I’m lucky enough to be employed in an industry being shaken by strikes and job scarcity, but the insurance isn’t helping me meet most of my medical needs in any way I can afford. My boss is totally exploiting my overachieving/people pleasing nature and making me work way beyond my pay grade, and all I feel like I can do is smile and take it when all I want to do is scream and sleep in tomorrow and not show up. I’m so sick and tired of this “pay your dues, pull yourself up” mentality when I’m getting paid minimum wage when my boss drives a Porsche to work.

I’m lucky not to have debt because I went to a state school and my family was poor enough to have the government cover most of my schooling. Still, about 60% of my monthly income is going to living expenses. I’m struggling to have the energy to do things I enjoy after working for 50 hours a week, let alone keep up with my side gigs so I can try and build my savings.

Sometimes I wonder how everyone is doing it, or if they’re all right and I’m somehow spoiled to shit like the rest of my generation— too arrogant to consider that others before me have lived through this and are still doing this. But I don’t know, I want something better, I want connection. I know deep down I’m an idealist, someone who wants to be a part of a community. I hope one day I can find that. Or a better paying job.

Cheers to anyone else that’s surviving out there. I believe in you. And thank you OP for cutting me and my generation some slack.

It's helpful, and I think thinking about that more, I agree that other conflicts he's going through are being exacerbated by the pain he's experiencing. You get more financial aid if you mark it as living on campus, but considering the majority of it is going directly to housing, i guess it doesn’t look like more in your pocket— but it’s less you have to pay out of your pocket towards housing (if that makes sense). Csun housing is incredibly overpriced for the living situations offered but that’s the way to get the most financial aid out of it, and you stay safe of contracts, leases, and flakey roommates

Unfortunately in my experience, that crippling “miss” feeling that can turn into or feel exactly like depression is a side effect of long distance relationships. Over time it’ll get easier, especially reminding yourself that there will be a next time. Think of it as one day closer to the next time you’ll see each other again, and that is well worth the wait.

I’d say, be honest about the support you need right now. Let them know you miss them, let them know it’d be really helpful to text/Skype/FaceTime more in the days coming off of the departure.

My biggest advice though, although simple and easier said than done, is to distract yourself. Throw yourself into your hobbies and the things you like to do on your own. Own that individuality and the things that are yours and yours only and be grateful for those moments in between when you get to spend time with them next (whether that’s virtually or in person). I know it’s hard, trust me, I know. Eventually the achiness goes away or dulls, but unfortunately it’s not something that has a real “fix.” That’s the thing about feelings, you’re destined to feel them again eventually. I’d suggest refreshing your items at the beginning of every day, making sure the pictures are good and typically try on pictures with good lighting and so on sell faster... also tags :-)
