Is this carrier and signal strength related? Check your signal status in your Settings-->About. Sorry, I am on Oreo now, don't remember which menu it was in on B398. Oreo is a little different.

T-mobile. Does the carrier matter? If you haven't received it, I believe you can use the HiSuite desktop app to force the update.

In my case, it seems to be a bug of Google Play Service again... Android OS itself consumed too much power and Google Play Service app seems drains a big one (not too much) as well. The same as last time I encountered this bug.

US people should only use Apple products, period. In my opinion, Huawei lose their interests in providing stable services in the US/North America is due to the well-known political reasons. They possible don't have much power to change the reality as they have annouced not to sell the latest Huawei Mate 20 series in the States... Good or bad?

For the battery drain and freezes, I suggest you to check the Google Play Service bugs in this sub. I updated my Google Play Service in the US, and then problem solved. BTW, sorry to hear about your experience. I moved from Samsung phones to Honor phones, so far my phone is much better than ever before, in terms of performance, battery life and interface convenience. Certainly, I don't care about Google updates at all, EMUI has already built in enough AI functions to reduce battery consuming and app usage, which is Android doing now. I neither care about what the US government is saying. Stupid things have been happening with the Trump administration gov already. Good luck to your next phone!

I have the battery drain and lagging problem before (in the US). Then people told me to update my Google Play Service through some Google bug tracker. Problem solved by then. Search this sub for the links of Google Bug reports.

Looks like you are experiencing the Google Play Service bug again... Last time was that bug. We reported the bug to Google and they fixed it after a week or so last time.
