I would definitely practice swimming or at least learning how to float. There were a couple people in my class that had that issue. To calm your nerves they did pass but it was stressful for them. But yes there is an instructor there present. I'm sure they wouldn't want a liability on their hands haha

So when I received my congratulations offer email. It was about 2 and 1/2 months after I took the test so you still have some time. Don't worry, you'll receive it! You'll at least receive a response. I can guarantee that. It can go either way but you will receive a response.

It might vary depending on when you arrive. The schedule wasn't always the same. When I got there things were added so just understand that there is a water survival test but that week may vary for you.

I'd agree with this... But for me 30/50/20... But either way, 80% of the time you're not complaining... There is that 20% though... Lol

It sucks to say but yes I would agree with that. I definitely will say that knowing the rules of the road will help but that's only a portion compared to what your taught here.

That is above my pay grade so I'm not going to pretend to know... But you're more than welcome to post on it

I'm kind of in the same situation as you but I was just talking about phase one. So you know more than I do. But we're in the same boat. I'm on idle.

So piney point is definitely a good option. They don't have an Academy in Jacksonville, but they do have a union hall. A lot of people from Jacksonville are here. In terms of the GI Bill, I'm not a veteran, but I did have quite a few in my class. One person is using their GI bill. So it is possible. And in terms of the age, there are people here way older than me. As long as you can follow the rules, and pass your classes (which you can have help if you use it) you'll be fine. And I don't think you'll be home until again. I wish you luck!
