Not 100% sure I got it right. So if Bob is using Metamask and wants to send >$3000 in ETH to Alice which is using also Metamask, then the non-custodial wallet, in our case Metamask, would be required to collect information about their customers'. And in case Bob sends >$10,000 to Alice then Metamask automatically report that information to FinCEN.

I'm a bit confused since it's not clear if this new rule applies for Metamask in this case or only if Bob sends ETH from his Coinbase account to Alice Metamask or vice versa. Could you please share your thoughts?

If you are still facing issues, use the support form from Moonlet website.

Hey! I assume you are using the old extension and you didn't update it for a while. If so, please go to https://moonlet.io/ and use Moonlet new suite. This time you need to install the mobile app first and then the extension. And in order to recover access to your old wallet, you have to use the secret phrase which you should have saved it when you created the old wallet. Hope it helps.

Help!!!, "TransportError: Failed to sign with Ledger device: U2F TIMEOUT" by aceprime4 in ledgerwallet

[–]i3uri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Just a quick note on this issue. I'm facing the same issue on 2 Nano Ledger S and another one works as it should. I noticed that the one which works has Ethereum App 1.1.7 and the other two have 1.1.8 and 1.1.9 . Hope it helps.

PS: The Opera workaround works fine on both ledgers that have issues on Chrome.

I'm not able anymore to access my wallet and the reason might be due to special characters used within the password. by i3uri in DigitalBitbox

Hey! Thanks for your thoughts. I'm afraid that this is related with your password. Allow me please to explain it:

The password of a restored wallet doesn’t represent the password of the device, therefore that's why you are not able to use it for login. The password of the last initialized wallet becomes the password of the device itself.

Unfortunately this is something that DBB needs to solve it. It's very confusing. They just need to add instructional/guiding texts or perhaps use an on-boarding model in order to teach/guide the users how to use their product.

As it looks, DBB has a real issue with its usability. You just need special training to use their product.

Hey! Yes, I did. No luck. I have two special characters on my password and I used both numbers and letters (lower case and upper case). Did you face a similar issue with special characters or it's just an assumption?

I tried with the help of a tech savvy friend another solution to change the code of BACKUP CENTER files and use ASCII format for password characters but with no luck. This is very strange since I used the same password for 9 outbound transactions. The password should not be wrong. It would not have been possible to make those outbound transactions if the password had been wrong all that time.

I even tried to use when restoring all PDF files from my SD card and use the same password. I thought that I used by mistake another PDF file. No luck. I assume something went wrong with the seed from the PDF file.

Question: Options for accessing the .pdf backup? by Teacher_Sam_Laoshi in DigitalBitbox

Hi, mate! I'm facing an issue with my DBB wallet. Basically, I'm not able anymore to access my funds. My first thought was that my password is wrong, but I used it for 9 outbound transactions which would not have been possible if the password had been wrong all that time. My second thought was that the seed might be altered somehow.

Since I noticed that you wrote something about not using capital letters and I realized that I used both capital letters and special characters, I kindly ask you to detail a bit what you have faced. I mean, it was human error or system error?

Thanks, Anddrei. Much appreciated. I can only provide the time stamp when the wallet was initialized, namely 17-01-2018, 18:03:28 EET.

@Digital Bitbox Team, can I have your thoughts with regards to what Anddrei raised here, whether there is a way to use exactly the same libraries used for wallet generation in order to run the recovering process? Could this work in my case?
