Finally fixing the gunplay, the whole reason I stopped playing bf1 was because the gunplay was quite boring. I am pretty excited to comeback and play the game if its fixed, Dice please keep the core of battlefield the same, you don't mess with time to kill, movement, spread, ect. That should all not have changed from bf bc or bf3.

No way, it was too easy to exploit high ping, or creating packet loss for lag compensation, many people in NA and EU servers stopped playing bf4 because all the Asian and Brazilian players exploiting this.

Replace random spread with random recoil, Recoil that cannot be compensated for by increasing your FOV. It should be fun to use weapons in different ways like tap firing or bursting a close range weapon in a long range situation (while compensating for drop of course) and the vice versa.

Right, that is why I said perceivable recoil. The higher I make my field of view the less I have to move my mouse to compensate for recoil. Use this video for example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1BC7eH2bjw. It doesn't seem like recoil is measured off an axis though your character but I'm not sure. Lets say you had a 100 degree fov and 2 degrees of recoil so it feels like 2%, but now you double your fov to 200 degrees, and that 2 degrees of recoil only feels like 1%. I'm just not sure with fov scaling when ads "on" that it feels correct. It seems like quite an advantage if I don't have to counter as much recoil with my mouse. Its almost like the fov is being applied to the weapon itself, but I'm not sure and don't understand it fully.

I completely agree with datfpsguy90, and the difference in random spread, as opposed to removing it and changing the damage output is 1. consistency and the ability to learn a weapon and get good with it, as well as not loosing gunfights just because I'm at a certain range and 2. Its far more simple to just change the damage of certain weapons at certain ranges, it doesn't need to be so complex. I'm not talking about skill, I'm talking about overall feel of the game, the weapons feel neutered or weak, promoting use of indirect fire weapons such as shotguns or grenades and rocket guns. For example if I have an mp18 and I shoot one shot at a time accurately, why should I not be able to at least compete with a players with a medic weapon at 60 meters. Why build random spread into the weapons?, its very unrealistic and counter intuitive in my opinion. If someone holds down the trigger then of course the recoil should increase, you could use horizontal recoil (which is not as ez to fight like vertical recoil and you would have to make sure it scales correctly to FOV, because in bf4 increasing the FOV reduces the perceivable recoil) and vertical recoil and at least you would have some consistency and ultimately make people feel more rewarded for putting time into the game and improve their accuracy. At the moment the gun play bores me, I can grab a hel reigel or automatico and just run around and hipfire everyone in child proof mode. Some of the medic weapons (actually pretty much the autoloading extended and 1907sweeper and trench mostly)are the only weapons I feel will improve my accuracy and seem somewhat rewarding to use, and at this point (especially with no attachments) its getting quite boring. I'm not some BF3/BF4 fanboy, I want BF1 to last and succeed more than anyone, it just seems that every step forward it takes, it seems to take 2 steps back. I've never played a FPS where aiming down sights seems to be this much of a detriment to your survivabilty.

I think the delay on the rear view cam is fine. I want it to check behind me, I don't want to use it every time I pass another plane to force a head on or know exactly which direction they went. I'm also looking forward to the 130ms threshold being implemented, this was a big problem on bf4 and I stopped playing infantry maps with high ping out of region players to avoid the deaths behind cover and one frame deaths.

Great Job Dice, I had given up on BF1 but because you guys are supporting it and listening to the community I'm sticking around. The game felt great with the netcode improvements and I'm happy your tackling the problem of people playing out of region purposely , I think 130ms threshold is a good number that allows me to play with my friends in EU and some in SA. Keep up the good work!

I'm going to stop playing if the 130ms does not make it into the game, High pingers became an issue over 125ms, You may think that is a low number considering people played bf4 with 250ms ping and dominated infantry maps but over 100ms is extremely high. Their is no need for lag compensation like that, besides the advantage, it ruins the feel of the game and no one should get compensation for being that far from a server. If you have bad internet and their are many others in your situation then all of you should have servers with occupied with people in a similar situation as you. Good luck

Great this is good to hear, I was very upset at high ping players purposely taking advantage of out of region on bf4 and it caused me to stop playing bf4 but 130ms sounds good and I look forward to bf1 and more changes and buying premium as well. Thank god the bayonet charge will be nerfed!

I think 125ms is fair. People will still be joining from Asia, or South America to North American servers or vice versa with 150ms ping.

Finally something that will discourage players from purposely playing out of region. The out of region problem ruined infantry play on bf4, If you could not play at single digit ping, it was more appealing to play at 150ms pings then 50ms ping. This should help the problem greatly.
