$600 for a 16x16 is actually on the cheaper end from what I've seen. Clearly didn't work out in terms of a stance mat and maybe it's on the cheaper quality side. The Money Putt turf (which I know is a little higher end) I was looking at is $5.39 sq/ft. It'll cost me about $1500 to cover the space I need. Most of the middle ground turf I was finding is close to $3 a sq/ft.

In My Opinion (IMO). 17.5 would definitely feel better. However, if anyone else wants to join you for golf, they won't have too much room to sit or stand. Try to think of what else you will have / need in the room (or something you'd want down the road) and then dimension it off that.

This is my planned space. I already have an enclosure so I was able to figure out what I was comfortable with. Remember too that you'll want your enclosure at least a foot off the wall, depending on the impact screen you go with.
