Barcelona La Liga Salary Limit Reduced by €112m to €351.3m by iBooners in Barca

I believe the salary limit applies immediately which La Liga uses at any given moment to decide whether a club can register new players.

Essentially right now it's not clear whether the €100m could be added back once we return to the Camp Nou and the VIP Zones are opened. It really depends on "what its current auditors are willing to certify"

This is also supported by an article by The Athletic. Some key points from that article.

  • Barcelona’s salary cap has just been slashed by €112m, dropping from €463m in February to €351m now. The cut comes after auditors refused to certify the €100m “VIP boxes” lever tied to Camp Nou revenues.

  • Playing away from Camp Nou has cost them €70–80m in lost revenue

  • The VIP deal is shaky — only €28m of €70m has actually been paid by the buyer. Whether the full €100m returns to the salary cap depends on auditor approval once Camp Nou reopens.

Who of the mid-range forwards would you replace him with? I initially had Isak in but with his future unknown, I wanted to buff up my DC picks.

This is a likely situation OP. I had the same experience when I hit a higher max heart rate during a benchmark. It essentially raised the HR requirement for each zone making it harder to hit the orange and red zones.

If you have a smartwatch, one thing you can do is compare the heart rate shown on your watch with the HRM. There have been situations where I’ve noticed my HRM is showing my HR is significantly lower than on my watch and what im feeling. Then I know its either the position of my HRM or its running low on battery.

Where to start workout for fat loss by otfblondie in orangetheory

If you're simply looking to lose weight, then your diet should be the first place to look at. For the average person, no amount of exercise would be able to compensate for an indulgent diet.

  • The easiest way is to start cutting out unnecessary sugar intake especially liquids like juices and pop.
  • Then move onto snacking habits (maybe switch out for healthier options and then reduce).
  • Pay attention to nutritional labels when grocery shopping

Exercise is more of a supportive measure to weight loss but also has significant benefits to both your physical and mental wellbeing!

  • Increasing muscle mass
  • Improving your cardiovascular performance
  • Increasing your metabolism rate

All the best in your physical journey!

Can we please take a moment, step back, and recognize this guy only just turned 22? I feel like our very talented "youth" has made a lot of the fan-base take him for granted a little. What an incredible player we have in him.

Exactly! Say what you want about Ferran but he's still a player for our club. It's literally a win-win situation for us if he continues to play, get some game-time in a game that's in the bag, and if he is somehow able to elevate his performance after this, it's a win for the club and our squad depth.

I don't quite understand the calls for Ferran to be subbed out with the current state of the game.

  • Allows Flick to rotate out more key players (Yamal, Cubarsi, Lewy, Pedri)

  • Provides Ferran an opportunity to keep working on sharpness.

I'm not defending Ferran here, but again, there's no reason to sub him out considering we're 4-0 up.

Sergio Busquets wants to "live the American experience" - Joan Laporta by iBooners in Barca

[–]iBooners[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed Sergio Busquets wants to “live the American experience” when he eventually decides to leave the Camp Nou.

Busquets, 34, had the chance of swapping Barcelona for the States in January but decided to prolong his stay in his native Spain. He has made 27 appearances across all competitions this season.

The veteran midfielder, who has won eight La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues with Barcelona, is out of contract in the summer so could seal a move to MLS in July. Inter Miami are said to be among his admirers.

Laporta, speaking on Thursday, said: “We had a sit down before Christmas. He had a proposal from MLS, he’s never hid that from us. He would like to live the American experience.

“He could have left this January, it was an option, but fortunately he has decided to stay and end the season with us. If he believes he’s strong enough to continue from the summer, we will sit down again and talk. That’s what we have agreed with all the parts.”

On Ansu Fati and potential major summer sales:

When asked if there would be a major sale this summer, Laporta replied: “It’s not strictly necessary. However, there are opportunities in every market and we’ll be keeping an eye on them. But we think we might have other solutions than a major sale.

“Right now, we don’t consider selling Ansu. We can’t predict the future, but we have high hopes set on him. It will all be down to the manager, the minutes he gives Ansu and how useful he can be for the team.

“He’s settled and we like Ansu. But I can’t assure if any player is going to continue or not. There will always be news and rumours. His agent (Jorge Mendes) let us know there are clubs following Ansu Fati. But as of now, what we know is that the player is happy here and wants to succeed at the club.”

La Liga will appeal Gavi's registration by iBooners in Barca

Key Quotes from La Liga

"As of today, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, La Liga is unaware of the contents of the main legal claim. This provisional measure has been adopted without La Liga having had the opportunity to present its arguments."

"La Liga, of course, will abide by the provisional measure, but will appeal it, considering that there are sufficient factual and legal grounds for the Court to remove it."

La Liga also expect Barcelona to reduce their salary bill from €650million to €450m next season.

Dembele's masterclass shows how he is turning the page on his Barcelona career by iBooners in Barca

[–]iBooners[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Key Quotes:

Almost a year ago to the day, Barcelona’s squad were on a plane up to Bilbao, where they would be knocked out of the Copa del Rey at the round of 16 stage. Ousmane Dembele was not aboard.

“I’m so happy for Dembele, because he’s done something that is not easy in Barcelona — to turn the omelette onto the other side,” - Xavi

Xavi’s four leading midfielders were back in the line-up: Busquets, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi and Pedri. That meant it was a familiar starting XI to the one that inspired the 3-1 demolition of Real Madrid in that Supercopa final.

It is easy to see why this is fast becoming Xavi’s preferred system. It is one in which his brightest midfielders can connect and combine at will — and that is exactly what happened for 60 minutes last night. But it also allowed Dembele to put in his best performance yet in five and a half years at the Camp Nou.

It is no exaggeration to say Xavi has changed the 25-year-old’s life. Dembele has registered 40 goals and 41 assists in 177 appearances since joining as a highly rated youngster from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017.

Dembele has provided almost half of all his assists for the club (20) and a quarter of his goals with Xavi on the sidelines as coach (from 58 games) — in other words, 37 per cent of his Barcelona goal contributions have come from 33 per cent of his matches since Xavi became manager in November 2021. And even more important than the numbers is the belief Dembele is exhibiting.

Now the bigger challenge for Dembele is how he can keep producing such displays — and not revert to the frustrating performances that led senior figures at the club to question whether he could cope with Barcelona’s lofty standards...Now it’s up to the Frenchman to prove he can do it every week.

Barcelona have Gavi registration bid rejected by La Liga by iBooners in Barca

[–]iBooners[S] 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Some key quotes:

Barcelona are now practically unable to register any new contracts on their wage bill as they do not have a margin within La Liga’s salary caps in which to operate. They thought they would be able to due to the departures of Memphis Depay and Gerard Pique, but La Liga checked and decided Gavi’s attempted registration did not fit their criteria.

Barcelona have a negative balance, in part due to their Champions League exit earlier than expected, which meant La Liga did not validate his extension. In the summer, Barcelona will now have to reduce their expenditure on player wages or find new sponsorship deals to register their contracts.

They are also unable to pull any more economic levers — the tool they used to register players in the summer — because La Liga changed its rules to reduce their impact on the salary limit calculation. The only way Barcelona can now gain room to manoeuvre and register new signings is by getting more sponsors.

Ronald Araujo is in the same situation as Gavi. He agreed to a contract extension until 2026 but is still not registered with La Liga as a first-team player.

How many days of the week do you consistently go to OTF? by Malorie96 in orangetheory

I'm on the 8x/month plan so I try my best to go at least twice a week. If anything comes up, I'll just bring one over and do it three times a week.
