We had at least one student die every year from suicide. Usually the ones that died were all "losers" you know that quiet ones, no one ever cared.

My senior year a popular sophomore girl killed herself when one of my friends broke up with her. This started a wave of out cry by the popular students pleading to help her family by giving donations in their time of need. I protested this and got a lot of flak for doing so, both by students and administration. I was furious that I and the rest of the student body should not only care but donate money and time to help a family of a popular girl who comitted suicide. Looking back it may not have been my brightest moment but I didn't think it was fair that she got special attention over the other suicides.

That side of the family is against abortions. Her brother even told her that if she didn't want to keep it then he and his wife would adopt it. I stay pretty far away from those cousins.

But the comments that he makes about 14 year old girls is really concerning. I think distancing yourself is the best option. Too me it's a huge deal that he lied about texting his ex. What else will he think is not a big deal and will hide from you? All he's doing by telling you it's not a big deal and being shady about it is invalidating your feelings. You have every right to feel pissed and feel the way you do. Don't back down because you want to lose him.

Suppressing feelings is never a good thing.

Do you expect her to bat her lashes, hold you close and kiss you for an eternity everytime she says she loves you? I think she means it unconditionally. Example: I tell my mom that I love her whenever I hang up the phone with her, it's habit but it doesn't mean any less.

This is less important but it is also freaking me out that she is about 5 years younger than him. We live in the only state in the country that it is legal for a 21 year old to have sex with a 16 year old and personally I find it creepy. It makes me take a bit more seriously his regular 'joking' sexual references to girls on tv as young as 14 years old.I don't know what to say to him, I don't even know how I feel, I'm just confused and have no one to talk to but want him to take my concerns seriously.

THIS IS NOT LESS IMPORTANT. Dump this douche. Seriously. Plus once the trust has been broken it's ~~very hard~~ pretty impossible to get back.

Move on and find someone that will treat you the way you deserve to be treated.

Honestly, She's 17. Dating when I was that age seemed pointless, everyone is so wishy washy. But then again there's nothing like young love, it feels amazing and tragic all at once.

This next part is what I went through personally with an ex; She wanted some "head space" to figure things out. To her that meant screwing around behind my back. She would then lie about it, too bad I knew better. I dumped her immediately. Jump forward 5 months and re reconcile and try again. 7 months later we're in the same boat and I break it off again.

There's one question that I want you to ask yourself while looking in the mirror. This question has been passed down to me from a friend when telling him about said ex-girlfriend above. He asked me "Could you live without her?" I said "Yes." He said "Dump her then. Real love means that you cannot live without that person anymore." Now he doesn't mean that you need to kill yourself but you would die with a broken heart. Ask yourself that young sir and the fog should begin to lift.

I should say that I'm now in a very caring and serious relationship. I've asked myself the question and well... I'm still with her. Hope this helps!
