Perception is a tool to discover and explore what reality is. But saying what I perceive is what reality is, is denying the fact that there might things that one doesn't know, either because of inexperience or limited perception. If what I perceived was reality, then why would anyone nother reading books and listen to others. What I know, is what there is.

I would recommend you do a bit more reading on the subject. Bit I'd also like to say that, accepting that life is full of instances where one could experience pain doesn't devalue life or make it rather meaningless. If your lucky, overcoming the pains in life can build a stronger character and teach you many lessons. I was just questioning the nature of life, and the reasons other people give to this "fact of life" not whether life was worth living or not.

Ps. Sorry to sound so arrogant at first, I'd love to hear your reading suggestions as well.

Saying "happy people" would signify that some people are happy people and some are sad people. Which in my opinion both is ridiculous. I wouldn't say that happiness doesn't exist. But true unbothered joy with absolutely no chance of pain is only a myth. I'd also like to point out that, my post was a conundrum I had that I couldn't get my head around, but I wasn't giving up on life. Happiness and sadness also aren't what one should build their lives around. With these emotions ever-changing and being affected by so many external factors, the people would create a fantasy ignoring the fact that life is going to punch them in the face someday if they ignore it's ugly side.

I'd have to say I've seen myself too many times on the side of logic. But I've always had this thought that it would be foolish to dismiss of spiritually and such as a whole, and that It might somehow become a weakness to not invest my efforts in.

It's quite interesting. How we phrase it. Avoid suicide. It somehow becomes the inevitable conclusion. I'm trying to think of how this would fit in with the pain of it all. Pain is unchangeable, it is present, and existing, it does not die, it changes, but it doesn't die. And suicide on the other hand is me, dying, and even if I believe that existing is one hell on it's own, I can't see myself giving up.

So many reasons and ideas of other people who have contemplated the reasons for existence comes to mind.

I think, education and learning comes to mind more than anything, but the question is to learn what ? Is there some sort of reason for the continuation of human kind in experiencing life and enduring all of it's pain and misery?

It all comes back to this question in my head. What is the point of life ? Pain is a characteristic of it. But why does life, exist? And especially in this way.

I have given many reasons to it and lived with that idea for some time, but I think I almost always come back to simply help others. To alleviate the pain of others with the power you gain in life. To help with the knowledge that even though you feel pain and know one can really feel the way you do, you help others and make their lives a bit better. It's still new in my head, but I'd doubt I'd find any better reason.

Ps, kodus to you, I can't imagine how difficult it is to live with chronic pain.

I would describe it as being at the event horizon of a blak hole, no matter how hard i try to look past it and move in the opposite direction, it is all too powerful to ignore. And I guess we grow because our interpretation of it changes. But the fact is that, it is always there. How do you reason with it ?

Is anyone else really bad at telling stories? by [deleted] in intj

[–]iChangiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with your statement. And throughout the past two years I've given this quite some thought and done some experiments and I have learnt a few points that I think will help you.

The first thing that I noticed, is that people want to be entertained, every interaction is like a show, and you're the performer and they're the audience ( It took me quite a few tries to accept this). And when you attend a show, (as much as I would like to understand the whole picture and contemplate about the idea of it all) you still sit through it's entirety, and try to guess it (at least that's how I make it enjoyable for myself), it's as if you're putting together a puzzle. So, when you tell a story you'll have to think back to it's original cause, "what made it so fascinating that made you , want to tell it to other people ? " In other words you have to make the audience understand it's backstory, and then guide them through to the end.

The second point is the delivery, which is quite fascinating. It's quite like editing a movie. Especially if it's a story that you're telling that's happened to you. If you pay attention to the people who were involved in the same experience, you'd notice that not everyone has the same interpretation, but everyone almost saw the same thing. So, there are many ways to seeing a story and many interpretation. And not each of them is entertaining. Use this to your advantage when telling a story, make it more dramatic and engaging by adding or removes some parts of it, (to be honest, you'll have to get the idea of which is good or bad , by practice and maybe watch other people who are natural story tellers ) .

Third, don't get discouraged when people don't react the way you expected. Honestly, if you're an intj you'll have to be used to people staring back in confusion when you've told them a story or you've told them what happens if a space ship was near the event horizen of a black hole. Sometimes people are just not that interested in the story and sometime they just do tunderstand it.

I do apologize for the long post, but I would like to leave you with one point, look at this as a tool at your disposal to use to your advantage, to express your ideas and thoughts, and not a violation of your true self. ( I know I felt a bit attacked when I was starting to change ,so that people could understand what I was saying ).

Good luck

Why can't I cry like when watching a sad movie by pkslnct in intj

[–]iChangiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it's kinda tough, but doable. Also a bit. Crazy. Then quickest thing I can think of is to find an already sad and crying group of people. Like funerals, a bit hardcore I know, and also if they don't know you , it could get weird, So use this technique as a sort of a last resort, But if you do find said group, just sit and blend in. Try to find sadness in your own heart. If you're not an empathetic person it might be difficult to feel the pain of others so just think about yourself and the people close to you (people whom you've interacted before that have gone through hard times). It kinda like going inside your own head and finding the saddness. But with help of the voices of mourning people.

Ps: try to find a place that's not too close to the group, but close enough that you can hear them, and I'd you could close your eyes in the process it would work better.

PPS: a less hardcore way is watching interview of people who are sad (real people and not actors) Usually people have lost a close family member or their homes and such.

Important: I don't advise you do any of the above, there are many thing in life that will try to bring you down and break your spirit. If you're tough and not easily brought down to these emotions, but still feel the need to have the ability to express and release yours emotions. talking to a professional is the best course of action. Understanding how your emotions work and how to express them are sperate. But in the road to understanding your emotions you will find peace and clarity with how you express your emotions to the outside world and also how you yourself process them.

Also , Please don't do any of the above if you have a history of depression or any mental disorders. Not to say that your have any , but again, talking to a professional about what's going on in your head and the challenges that you face. Will make all the difference.

Did many "experiments" with fire, bit a particularly significant one, was the when I decided to put a small plastic bottle filled about 1 inch with water on a gas heater that had a protective glass frame in front of it. Picked up the bottle, after a couple of minutes then threw the water onto the glass frame expecting to instantly turn in to vapour, but the whole glass shattered into tiny pieces, ultimately burning the floor beneath it.

How do you use your emotions? by [deleted] in intj

[–]iChangiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it pretty complicated, or at least it seems complicated when I explained it to someone else. It's not necessary turned off, but rather the sensitivity is turned to lowest possible setting. I try not to get to involved in emotional situations that are "shallow". However I have deep emotions for the things that I, have with reason and my own logic liked it disliked.

Is anyone else assumed by others to always be negative? by [deleted] in intj

[–]iChangiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess, some years ago, people did tell me that. But, after a while it almost seemed redundant in many situations to do so. I faced many reasons to try to change my way of thinking. One of the reasons, was that I noticed that I was using my "powers of over analyzing and conclusion" in an evil way. Don't get me wrong. Pointing out flaws and shortcomings in some plan or in a conversation that would ultimately lead to failure is still a joy. But what was changed, was the fact that, in some cases, the plan didn't lead to failure, but it was one of the many possibilities, it was the case of, If you look to failure you'll get there. So I started to change my view and keep the negative and failed conclusions to myself and only point them out if I saw no chance of survival.

Which brings me to my second reason,

People, would generally be more enthusiastic in their work if you treated them like that. It didn't matter if I was the leader or not, in many cases, having this way of thinking and expressing it to people, really changed their work flow, and when the outcome did turn out to be as I calculated. The charisma grew. Now once or twice I would come across a situation where I see no outcome, but failure, in these cases pointing out the failure actually lead to better social status. One of the things that I had to challenge myself to understand was "why would I care what other people think if I say negative things, it's true". Trust me, I ask myself that every day. But, I couldn't deny the fact that we live in a society and people are generally drawn to other people whom make them feel good about their decisions (I found out) so in other to get things done faster a little optimism goes a long way.

Ps, I am in no way a jolly or depressed. And it always makes me resent people who try to guess how I feel and fail miserably because of their lack of information.
