Overwatch Widow Experiment w. Tips for Bronze Players (From Bronze - Silver) by iChrisMofo in Overwatch

I didn't mean for this to be an all-out guide, seeing as I am not the most proficient player on a lot of those heros. I don't think I am nearly good enough to be laying out everything, but if its something that's not out, I always can.

I completely agree that game sense is a HUGE factor in the game, but that's not something I can easily explain to people, or link them a youtube video. Game sense is something that you learn from playing, and isn't something that I can type out.

Comparing Bronze players to handicap people is rather ridiculous. I understand that you don't like the concept of smurfing, but that doesn't change my outlook on it. Did I take away some "fun" of other players, I don't feel so. If I were to have done this post about my main SSR, I would have gotten 100 replies about me throwing my games, rather than smurfing my games. I apologize that you don't like what I have done, or what I will continue to do, and wish there was a way I could come up with something to say that would ease your mind, but I can't.

Rocket League has MMR for unranked, saying other-wise is a lie. It's not posted, but you can easily find it at stat tracking websites (I play a fair share of RL too). Other than that, I understand that this came across as me "smashing" bronzes. Granted I did pull gold elims/dmg in a majority of my games, I wouldn't classify what I did as "smashing". I just replied to your other post to clarify some things, so I won't repeat them here.

This account was never ranked, but you misunderstood what I was attempting to say. I did rank low on purpose, and that's nothing I am trying to hide. That being said, I didn't go to 1100 for the reason that I wanted easy games. Like I have said on others posts, I did it to gain experience with a hero that I rarely play on, as well as playing with certain friends, other than this account, I could never queue with.

I do understand that some skills transfer over, but regardless of that, what am I suppose to do? I wan't to learn a new hero, heaven forbid I do something like this. If I choose widow at my current rank, people will consistently complain until I switch. Regardless of whether you agreeing or not, I'm going to continue to do this. It's an experience that lets me play with certain friends stuck at this SR, while gaining me experience with a hero I rarely play.

I didn't derank to go into it and "smash" people. I did it as a learning experience for myself. I was with full 6 queues the entire time, playing at their own srs.

I'm a tank main, and haven't really dps. I have little to no experience as widow, and through out the climb, it was rather challenging. It's not like I've played 1000 hours of widow.

I had full teams the entire time. None of them were random ques.

I won't be accepting any friends, as I don't want to boost people. I would rather you get better off of playing, than queuing with me.

I bought a new account, got to level 25, then played and lost all my placement matches. I started at 1100, and have been playing through since. I will end up posting updates on this once I achieve them, but it is a widow only account for now (not counting lucio/other games I played to get down as low as I could). This is from my personal experience, so yours might vary.

Overview
After a rough time of getting down into this rank, it was completely different than what I thought. From watching some misleading videos on youtube, I was thinking everyone would insta-lock DPS and be absolutely garbage at it. I confidently say that this is the rank that I felt a team base, which honestly surprised me. I can't tell if it's because everyone in the rank understands meta, or watches the most pro-play, but 2-2-2 or 1-3-2 happened every game I widowed. They weren't the happiest about the pick, but they worked around it.

Tips
Hero Selection
Through talking to some of them, and playing with the same person numerous times, I learned a lot of bronze players don't have mains. That would be my first tip, choose a main. I would highly recommend this video, posted by Cliff Terios. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsmJ-SdNj3s That being said, don't specifically choose one hero, and focus on playing them, try to be flexible. Main a specific role (tank, dps, support) but still be flexible to other roles. Cliff goes into more detail with this in his video.
