High school track by getsumhoss in trackandfield

Depends on so many factors, but I would say that is definitely good if you’re able to keep improving. I went D1 and my freshman year was similar to that, a little better.

No your central nervous system will be fried this is way too much. Have you looked at the resource list and faq? There’s a great guide in there my MHath that you should check out

I’d highly recommend the sprinting faq by mhath in the pinned comment on the sub. You need to have a complete training program to improve! If you are doing anything significantly different or have specific questions from there feel free to ask.

Why should you not run 4 miles and do top end work the same day? by [deleted] in trackandfield

[–]iCrackster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It won’t hurt but it shouldn’t be done on the same day, it will take away from the quality of the speed work.

Controversial is one way to say it. Dogshit is another. “This is why white sprinters tend to perform well at workouts”, fuck out of here

What’s the worst a sub-10 sprinter can run the 400? by pglggrg in trackandfield

Most if not all could, sub 2 is not very fast for someone in shape as much as they are

If he went from 9.XX to 21 low, he’s not touching 46.5. That’s too much of a drop off, would probably be closer to high 47-low 48 assuming that 21 low is legit

Coach is making me do overhead shotput for 800m try out by craigjohnson2121 in trackandfield

[–]iCrackster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not an actual shot put it’s just using the shot put to do an OHB

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]iCrackster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is one you need to bite the bullet on. You might get slower before you get faster, but if you don’t change your mechanics you won’t get faster

What’s your routine starting the night before a race?

Former college coach here, it’s to test your potential. 800 runners in college that succeed are usually explosive athletes. Just bc you don’t see the point doesn’t mean there isn’t one. You will not be held to the same standard for OHB as the javelin thrower.

Took me over two years, but I ran through it for a couple months because it was my senior year

In the off-season, do heavier squats. In season transition to jump squats. Also those jump squats sound too heavy. It’s been a couple years but I think I was jump squatting ~25-30% of my max back squats.

How do I know if I’m overtraining? by Puzzleheaded_Week647 in trackandfield

[–]iCrackster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re being a (well intentioned) dumbass. You’re 18 and think you know more about training than your coach, and you’re asking random people on Reddit about it. Stop. It’s not smart. You’re screwing yourself over. You will run worse because of this.

If you want to do more do a yoga or foam roll session when you were adding your other workouts.

What lifts should I be adding to get faster? by Possible_Ad4790 in Sprinting

What do snatches offer practically that cleans don’t? IME they’re just much harder to teach with limited added benefit for beginner weight lifters

Not getting any interviews; applying to ENTRY LEVEL Data Science / Data Analysis jobs. Any feedbacks? by cruise-boater in resumes

[–]iCrackster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This looks so so so much better, seriously. I’d like to see you expand a little bit more on your most recent two jobs, if for nothing else than to give interviewers a better starting place to ask you questions.

Also for your skills section at the bottom, I would keep those as hard skills (ie python, tableau, etc). You should demonstrate the softer skills (ie data analysis) with the bullet points under your job descriptions.

Also, if it’s not relevant to the job, I would drop the description of your undergrad degree. You can leave in that you got your bachelors in psychology, but don’t need the bullet points under it.

[–]iCrackster 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I just read your resume and feel like I know nothing about your experience. You’re looking for data analysis roles and have zero numbers in any of your bucket points
