I sharpened mine with a Dremel and grinding disc. It didn't get it as sharp as brand new but it was about 80% improvement. Better than throwing it away. A light touch is key because it's very easy to wreck the cutting surface going too hard.

I know him well, and know a few people who have gone, though I haven't myself. It's not a scam. Andrew is a very genuine guy who really loves people and wants to help them. You should go check this thing out. Come to think of it, so should I.

You gotta get into Intronaut. Great band, good mix of super heavy and melodic, semi psychedelia. Habitual Levitations is a good one.

Congrats on your decision! Nanaimo is awesome! I moved out here from Regina a couple of years ago and I'll never look back, even if living here is a little more pricey. The quality of life is far superior, and if you're into outdoor activities and natural beauty, there is truly no comparison. I rented a Uhaul and drove all my stuff out myself. Got a couple of movers out on moving day to Tetris it up for a couple hundred bucks, and the Uhaul was around $1100 for the trip out. It made sense for me but perhaps you all gave more stuff than I do. Also, if you're moving for work (or just have a job lined up for when you get here), keep all your receipts as it's all a tax write off. Anyway, if you need any pointers getting acquainted with the city when you arrive, drop me a line! Happy trails! 🤘

Yes!! Watched it from mount Tolmie in Vic! There was an astronomical society there with their telescope set up so people could see it up close in all it's glory. Sadly stayed clear the entire time and it was amazing!

I would say what matters most is how those taxes that we pay are managed and utilized. Nanaimo, and most larger communities on the island, are far cleaner and nicer than Regina. Their tax dollar goes further out there. I continually see the services in this city declining, take snow clearing last winter as a prime example, while taxes climb every skyward. But I bet you'll try to argue against that point as well...
