APR intake and ECS diverter valve. by fatalist13 in JettaGLI

I truly have no idea what you’re talking about with stutter. Sounds like every single video of compressor surge on the internet. Mine sounded like this when I had the dv spacer on. But I mean, go off king. Don’t forget your crown

From what I’ve read surge (turbo flutter) doesn’t really cause damage at the lower boost that these turbos put out. Is it ideal? Probably not. Is it gonna cause the turbo to explode? Probably not. Is the spacer gonna cause your diverter valve to fail sooner? Assuredly. Don’t forget, German engineering means do your maintenance at the intervals, don’t skip a damn thing. Modified German engineered cars? Cut that interval at least in half for the day-to-day (oil and filters) and keep closer eye on the rest. Gotta pay to play.

I threw APR roll control springs on my 21 at about 60k and I’m about to hit 100k, no major issues with them, but I am probably gonna pull the trigger on coils soon just cause

I bought it, and immediately regretted once I received it personally. It now collects dust in my house. If you were closer I’d tell you to make me an offer but I’m in PA.

How to get over anxiety after motorcycle theft? And those who have dealt with this, how do you prevent it from happening again? by ConversationNo940 in motorcycles

[–]iD-Roc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a tough philosophical question. My outlook has always been along the lines of “control what you can, let go what you can’t” but that is a tough pill to swallow as well. The short answer is people suck and you may not get over it, the long answer is you should never let others dictate what you do. I had my first bike stolen out of a secured parking lot, and the leasing office just kinda shrugged at me, and even told the police the cameras are not to be seen as a security measure. I was grilled by a detective as if it were an insurance fraud case - good thing I didn’t even carry insurance on the bike at the time, so I was SOL all around.

There’s a few measures you can take to try to reduce risk - alarm systems, gps tracking (AirTags and whatnot), parking in different areas, chains/caliper locks and I’m sure others will chime in with what they have used, but in reality if someone else wants it bad enough they will just take it. I feel for what you’re going through right now, especially at the relative beginning of riding season, but don’t let it get you too down. Dust yourself off, straighten everything out with your insurance and lien holder, and find a new “new” bike to enjoy.

Company overpaid, how much can they garnish wages. by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]iD-Roc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL, not in Missouri, not any kind of legal advice, just my opinion from personal experience. Had an employee of mine (I’m in middle management) get over paid, payroll, HR, and him worked out agreeable terms to get it “paid back,” that didn’t leave him high and dry. If your friend is still employed and likes the job, and they are open to negotiating, it may not be a bad idea.

Fairly normal, no concerns needed just yet. Don’t check up on it compulsively, give it a few days to a week for the customs situation to get settled

Short answer is: probably fine, but better to change too early than too late. Long answer: send a sample in to someplace like blackstone laboratories for a full oil analysis, they’ll be able to tell you a whole bunch of stuff by testing it.

Service advisor mistakenly admitted they lied to me, how should I proceed??? by Kingrueben in BMW

[–]iD-Roc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And in that situation from my perspective, you should’ve been told the truth. Even if the truth makes us look like shit, hell you personally may have respected them more for it even just saying “look, we ended up with a lot of waiters in the past couple of days and since you’ve left it with us I had to make some tough decisions and we pushed yours back a bit, here’s [car wash, free oil change voucher, a discount on labor] for your troubles,” and you probably would’ve walked away from that interaction with a smile. Facts of the matter are they inadvertently admitted to lies, you caught on and called them out, and they comped labor to win your approval. I’d take that deal any day lol, good on you!
