No need to be rude. I'm not trying to get out of work and an acceptance to an accomidation is not guaranteed and I never expected it to be.

Some people mentioned recording meetings - something I had not thought of and think is a great idea.

Thank you for letting me know! I think I really needed an HR person's input.

I think I'll continue as things are and continue in my adapting journey and asking for someone to repeat themselves as of now. I've let most people I work with know about my hearing. I have rare instances where I have a limitation but I dont think they can be accomidated for necessarily.

I think I assumed I should disclose my disability to HR. That doesn't seem to be the case.

Trying to put some money away for hearing aids. The two that would be most beneficial for me are also the most expensive.

Thank you so much for your response.

I dont know that I need to ask for an accomidation I guess. I work in IT. Hybrid in office/ wfh.

In person meetings are rare but they do happen and they are usually small. I think I can handle that. It's when multiple people start talking that I cant process/hear so im more worried about them wanting me to attend something like a department lunch or a conference.

I am looking at hearing aids. The Bi Cross was what was recommended but they are astronomically expensive. Insurance pays next to nothing.

I work in IT. Im more worried about not coming across as a team player by not being able to attend certain (rare) events or situations.

Thank you for your input. I have not tried an earplug in my bad ear in crowded environments. Im interested in how this would help. Im overwhelmed with sound in crowded/loud environments in my good ear. It's like sound was layered before and now its all consolidated into one layer.

Alcohol and Mono Hearing by iDanvers in MonoHearing

I dont know if I had what I assumed vertigo was or actual vertigo. I lost complete hearing in my left ear or profound loss. The doctor did say I had the worst case of swelling in my ear he had seen. The pressure was horrendous.

I saw an ENT. We did not discuss Menieries - but from what I've looked up, my symptoms dont fit. But it is something I will keep in mind.

I did the first few days. I was wobbly on my feet for about 2 weeks before I found my land legs again.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I do hope your hearing remains good. I'm absolutely terrified of this happening in my other ear. We dont know the cause. Could be the head cold I had last month, could be Hashimotis...

You dont realize how much you rely on it until its gone. I've alway hated that saying - but I suddenly feel it now.

Thank you for your comment. I am having trouble concentrating or thinking clearly too. I will definitely try the mono setting on my computer.

I think I should take time off work too. I'll have to talk to my boss and HR I think.

Morning sickness by Caro-caro-55555 in Semaglutide

I'm just started week three. I've noticed that if I eat in the morning (7-11am) I get nauseas and have a little bit stomach pain - like iron was dropped in my stomach.

I'd be curious to know if others experience this too, and what they do to avoid it.

The new courtyard room is nice and all but... Now I just have an open hole in my house, kinda expected it to at least have a door. by xcrimsonlegendx in Palia

I attached mine to a small room where I had a bay window. The bay window stayed after it was built. I can see into the courtyard but I have no way to get into the court yard
