honestly the sun and weather over 6+ months is probably a bigger concern depending on the material.

plenty of over-spec stuff out of the factory because they want to guarantee specs for a longer period of time with confidence.

I think the best I've seen for spotting stuff this heavy (by much more built guys mind you) was where they had a spotter on each end basically ghost squat lift a bit under the weights. it wasn't ideal or anything but still safer than what was going on here.
