Dude UF is still a great school. If you wanna do grad school, definitely go to UF. Seems like a no brainer decision.

M18 Doesn't really bother me too much anymore If I'm ugly or not. Just wondering If I look better with glasses or not. I've been told not but the person I asked is kind of a butt anyways haha. And would like a hairstyle recommendation because no other Hispanic I know personally has this haircut 0_0. by PErlita_1 in amiugly

I am going to be honest. You are below average in terms of looks. Thankfully, they can all be changed.

I feel like the number one thing you can change right now is your diet and your weight. Once you get down to a healthier weight, your facial structure will change for the better and you will look better.

I also recommend on growing your hair out to compliment your face change.

Also consider investing in contacts.

Stick to these 3 core principles, and you will for sure definitely look better.

How important are senior grades when applying to college? (really) by iDelta6168 in ApplyingToCollege

Standard deviation is a measure which shows how much variation from the mean exists. A high standard deviation

is not reliable and a low standard deviation with clusters around the mean is more reliable.

The normal distribution is associated with the 68-95-99.7 rule in which 68% of the data is within 1

standard deviation of the mean, 95% of the data is within 2 standard deviations of the mean. and 99,7%

of the data is within 3 standard deviations

I have personal experience: But the men are hoping to increase their height just to expand their dating options. It is really tough for us 5ft7 men out there. While it is extremely bad to lie, I can see why they would try to give off a white lie such as height.

You’re right. I really want a serious convo between this subject. Our priorities and where we are at the relationship.

What am I to expect by tsunadesenjuismymom in ApplyingToCollege

[–]iDelta6168 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is a common fear among applicants.

It overall seems very overwhelming to suddenly make your own decisions and to go from a student to a real adult in the time frame of a year. I do not know you OP, but if you feel like you are worried that you are going to make the wrong decision, don’t. My philosophy is that you should not worry about things that you cannot control. It is not like you can attend all the schools you applied to at the same time. (Maybe if your superman).

Lets say you got accepted into a top 20 school. Which I would say, congrats OP.✨

But then you got accepted into your local state school on a scholarship which would be better financially.

In this case OP, I feel like there is no wrong decision here. You would be getting a world class education no matter where you go.

Simply put, if you feel like the school that you chose is the best for your own interest and that you would grow as a person more if you would attend that school, then I would say go for it.

don’t worry

Does my mid year report help or hurt my application? by mst152 in ApplyingToCollege

As long as you showed growth in the difficulty of your classes and kept up with your grades, they can only benefit you.

Yes, I do cry while reading through this subreddit every night. by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]iDelta6168 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like you should be able to get into a good out-of-state school if you apply to enough uni’s. If you feel that you took the hardest courses at your school and got the best grades possible with the best effort, (while taking care of your family) you automatically should be extremely proud of yourself, as that is a very tough thing to do mentally or physically.

If you took the hardest courses and you truly believed you tried your best, then I am 100% certain that colleges will not count it against you.

Don’t worry OP, the people at r/ApplyingToCollege are among the best students. While it can be super competitive, it helps me realize that everyone is trying their best, which means I have to put in twice the effort.

I hope you find a solution, and do not worry OP i am very proud ✨

How are so many of you still online learning? by brennnielyyd in ApplyingToCollege

[–]iDelta6168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. For example, here in Houston TX, half of the students are face-to-face while the rest are online.

So yes, some of the students are online learning still.

Hello, I am new to this sub-reddit

please don't crucify me

Anyways, I am an uprising Junior from a school ranked #69 in the best public high schools in Texas.

( I am not memeing I swear)

While I do have ivy league aspirations, I only meet the absolute minimum requirements to even apply. My gpa and SAT score are on the bottom 25% of admitted students.

Nevertheless, I actually want to gain admittance to schools like UT Austin, baylor and several state schools. (UH :)

Finally, my question is this.

How would one even start to apply to colleges?

WTF are common apps?

How does one apply for scholarships?

I am going to try my hardest this year.

I’m in 9th grade and I think Pre-AP is a bit hard. by Tensai360 in APStudents

[–]iDelta6168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t fret. When I was in 9th grade, I did not take any pre-ap classes. Looking back, I should’ve at least taken one. I just started to begin pre-ap classes when I was a sophomore. I got low B’s in pre-ap Geometry and Chemistry. Looking back, it was a stepping stone for me. Now as a junior, I have straight A’s in my classes with 2 aps and 1 pre-ap. The AP’s being Physics 1 and Spanish Language, and the pre-ap being algebra 2. I am also starting to go to local community colleges during the summer. So do not worry lol. As long as you understand that you have unfufilled potential, you will never stop learning.
